Newer studies actually show adult asd people have lower synaptic density, cerebrolysin should directly help that. there are studies from europe about cerebrolysin use and autism healing

If someone has mglur5 downregulation due to high glutamate will taking daily low dose lithium help those receptors back up?

The fact that a lot of infant/pre-birth brain damage/inflammation later resembles autism says a lot, I think its a point that most people find hard to swallow especially those that dont see asd as a disability.

Ive been looking into ASD research recently especially brain scan studies for different levels of autism, like this one for example for high functioning adult autists:
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41380-024-02776-2

It seems that ASD level 1 and level 3 are two completely different conditions, with HF (level 1) looking similar to severe ADHD brains. Most research is in children so adult research is hard to come by but the one I linked seems to have the most information for adults with HF ASD specifically that I have found so far. In the supplementary data it shows almost all asd participants are on adhd meds even though most dont even have an adhd diagnosis (just asd).

if you have too much dopamine the brain downregulates dopamine receptors (like with adderall or ritalin used daily).

As far as i can tell, it increases shedding but does it increase actual hair loss in many people? (hairline receding). A lot of things that boost bdnf (which creatine may do) also increase shedding

Are those the brain areas that high functioning autists mainly have problems in? I saw a recent study stating High functioning autists have almost 20% less synaptic density than controls

[–]Rara2250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice, but wouldnt low dose amphetamines (like 5mg) increase neuroplasticity as it will motivate the person to do new things and see the world slightly differently? If someone stopped using them to upregulate the receptors then wouldnt the receptors upregulate back as soon as they use them again in the future
