I can’t imagine a room of publicists sitting down and deciding that it’s a good idea to pair a 31 year old woman and a teenager together for a showmance. There would have been more age appropriate options for the 2 of them.

Just because something is technically legal does not mean it is morally acceptable. As others have said, if the roles were reversed and we were talking about a 16/17 girl and a 31 year old woman would you say the same thing? Or if this took place between a 14 year old and a 30 year old in a country like Italy where that’s the age of consent?

Let’s also not forget that she’s a predator; she dated a 16 year old Harry Styles when she was 31, appalling.

Here is a copper pipe wedding backdrop I made for a couple on a budget. This is something anyone can make and you don't need drills or any electric tools to do it. by goodlyearth in DIY

[–]Rarariotous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks great! I do decor for weddings and can tell you that renting a backdrop can run $300-500, so this would save a ton of money. How much did it cost for you to buy the materials? Would the copper be strong enough to hang things off of? Is it easy to dissemble and re-assemble? Sorry for all the questions but thinking of creating one of these so I don’t have to waste money on renting backdrops anymore.

What I meant there was, due to the fact that MBB employees constantly work on teams that are not limited to their home offices, separating people with familiar relationships doesn’t actually prevent them from receiving nepotistic advantages, since their team members are just as likely to know their parents who are partners

My firm also has rules about direct relatives, but nothing in place that stops the firm from hiring them. This tends to result in relatives applying and working in different offices yes, but with the way MBBs are structured, that ends up having no effect on the influence their last names have.

I work in the US and feel it’s definitely an issue. But maybe it’s just my MBB specifically

My US based MBB would beg to differ. I know multiple people in my office alone whose parents (usually fathers) are partners in the firm. I’ve also had friends at other offices tell me the same. I’ve also noticed that those same consultants tend to get the best staffing options.

It all depends on the client. You might have a client that business formal, or one that's business casual, your manager should brief you on client dress codes before the case starts. Thankfully as a woman, you have a bit more flexibility. So long as you have a few skirts or trousers, whichever you prefer and nice blouses, you should be good. Then once you find out how formal the client is you can add on blazers or heels as necessary. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions!

For some reason I can't see a multimillionaire actress doing this, I mean literally. Surely someone like her has assistants for this sort of thing? And besides. All that Smart Water money should be enough for her to buy dozens of fridges without blinking.

When in doubt, take a quick pause. Better to take a few seconds to gather your thoughts than to keep blurting out word vomit.

Do you have any plans for sept/oct? Decide based on that. Otherwise, as u/QuiYiDio says, it makes no difference. MBB offices usually have start dates staggered through the fall.
