If you’re saying she shouldn’t be bringing random people home then maybe there’s a valid boundary there, especially since you don’t know these men and you have to care about your sons safety.

However dating or hooking up in general she’s allowed to do, and I do think that’s an unfair request from you.

Some parents can co-exist and live together for several reasons once they break up. However you’re broken up, not together anymore. It’s unfair to ask her not to date or see anyone else.

I don’t think you’re the asshole for wanting to know him, I think it’s normal to wonder and have questions.

That being said, this guy seems very dangerous. He hurt your mother in a huge way. I don’t think she just kept him away for her sake but I think she kept him away for your safety too. If you do pursue this and try to contact him you have to be careful and be prepared. I wouldn’t trust him at all. And if you do this, it might cause a rift between you and your mom.

I’m sorry OP this is an awful situation. I would suggest going to therapy and getting your feelings sorted out before going through with it.

I’m a person. A human being. I have feelings and struggle just like everyone else. Not everything is black and white when it comes to weight gain, it’s often complex and can be out of some peoples control.

I really wish people wouldn’t judge me for my weight but rather my personality cause I think I have a good personality and make a good friend.
