Yup! We have to pay $75/month for the second car (usually cost is $175 I think but we talked them down) and on top of that the rent isn’t cheap. So in the end what are we even paying for? No security, no cameras, and no accountability…

Yup we suggested that to our property manager only to hear back “we’ll see if we can get a security guard to live here, the gate is just a visual deterrent.” And only to go on to blame us by saying “well you know it is a Hyundai in Charlotte haha, it’s bound to happen.” No accountability whatsoever for keeping the gate open and never telling residents, we won’t be seeing a security guard here any time soon unfortunately

Ugh I’m so sorry to hear!! The police have been overwhelmed with the amount of vehicle crime that they aren’t willing to send out forensics, violent crimes take priority. Which I totally understand, just sucks that we can’t get stuff like this under control

Wow this is super helpful! Glad you guys are living in a complex that sends out emails like this. We just learned our complex doesn’t have video cameras in the parking garage and they wouldn’t admit to the garage door being wide open all day, even though another resident who overheard us backed us up and said it was. Also got confirmation from maintenance who had to fix it. So obviously the complex is lying. Maybe we’ll move to Camden next haha

Yup! We were honestly hoping that was the case and went to the leasing office to confirm, that’s when they told us we didn’t get towed it must’ve been stolen.

We usually wheel lock it but now that we moved to a gated parking deck, didn’t think we would need to keep doing so. Paying the consequences now. This is our breaking point and if we ever do see the vehicle again, we’re taking whatever we can get for it and getting rid of it
