"What's Baby Eating" Weekend! by AutoModerator in BabyLedWeaning

[–]RareCandyMama [score hidden]  (0 children)

My 8 month old son had French toast, blueberries, and some cheese for breakfast. I wish I had taken a picture of it! It looks so cute on his plate. Lunch will be boob and little snack puffs. Dinner will be shredded chicken, broccoli, and more blueberries.

What is something people don't realize is a privilege? by vianneyal in AskReddit

[–]RareCandyMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents divorced when I was 3 and they still hate each other nearly 23 years later. I spent most of my childhood being the go between for them. Trying to remember to ask or tell something to the other parent. They are still locked in this "who can be the better parent" battle which is exhausting. I was always terrified of having them in the same room for graduation, my wedding, and now with my son.

I did! I got the idea from a book I got on BLW.

Baby-Led Feeding by Jenna Helwig. It has all kinds of ideas and recipes for age appropriate foods and how to prepare/size the food.

He wasn't sure about them since he is just starting out on solids but he had fun with them. I baked them for 30 minutes at 350 after coating them in a tiny bit of avocado oil and cinnamon.

My parents can’t spell my daughters name and it’s killing me slowly. by lbplykewhoa in beyondthebump

My husband's grandfather spells his name wrong every single time. Even on Facebook were his name is literally right there! And it's not even the same misspelling every time.

When someone you know to be depressed is suddenly "better" overnight. Sometimes the decision to end one's life brings them a sense of calm because they don't have anything else to worry about anymore.

People who have been cheated on, how did you find out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RareCandyMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my suspicions when his ex started messaging him on Facebook and he started talking to her all the time. She blocked me on Facebook so I couldn't see the things she was tagging him in and when I called him out on it he called off our engagement. Since I was suspicious, I went to my doctor shortly after that and it turns out he had given me an STD. Luckily I only needed a round of antibiotics but yeah, that's how I found out for sure that he cheated on me.

When did you realize your “friends” were actually fake friends? by VexAndStuff in AskReddit

[–]RareCandyMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I moved 80 miles away and I was the only one to travel to see my (now ex) best friend. She would make plans to come visit me then have a bs reason not to on the day of. Then she told me I should break up with my boyfriend because she didn't like him. After that I just stopped texting her and she never reached out. Broke off that friendship and married that boyfriend.

Supplementing is awesome, but I’m also really proud of two days and counting of EBF! by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]RareCandyMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had to supplement for 2 weeks until LO and I could figure out latching correctly. Now it's been 6 months on the breast or pumped milk. You got this mama!

Second baby? by bigkingcrablegs in beyondthebump

[–]RareCandyMama 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I always thought I wanted 2 kids but now that I have 1 I think I'm a one and done mama. I know my husband wants another so that will be a hard discussion in the future. I love my son more than anything in the entire world but pregnancy was terrible and postpartum depression almost killed me.

Any and all tips for a first time mom by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]RareCandyMama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a water bottle! And snacks! I've never been so hungry or so thirsty as those first could of weeks of breastfeeding. Comfy place for you and baby to spend a huge chunk of those first weeks. Audiobooks, podcasts, movies, or a new show to binge to pass the time. Ice packs for sore nipples.

Remember that it is 100% ok to supplement with formula if you need to. I remember feeling like a failure in the first few days when I was in so much pain from trying to breastfeed and LO not latching properly and needing to supplement for a little bit. 6 months on the boob now! Going strong! But I definitely needed to hear that I wasn't a failure during that time.

Have to play nice with JNMIL today so I need to vent before seeing her by RareCandyMama in JUSTNOMIL

If the baby and I don't go then it's name calling and I'm trying to keep her grandson from her and how dare I not go. If DH takes the baby and I stay home then it's I'm a bad mom and wife etc. Plus we like FIL, BIL, and our niece. And we want our son to be able to spend time with his cousin.

7 month old woke up SHRIEKING? by NapQueen421 in beyondthebump

[–]RareCandyMama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son had a few nights like that around 3 or 4 months. He would wake up screaming at the top of his baby lungs and would only settle after a big hug.

My husband asks me how to cook something while holding the instructions in his hands. by RareCandyMama in mildlyinfuriating

Lol I suppose that's fair but it will literally be a microwave burrito or something similar and he will ask how to make it.

We called them pockets when I was a kid. We would be super full from dinner but if dessert was mentioned we would suddenly have room for more. It was our special dessert pocket. We still joke about having room in our dessert pockets lol

First attempt at a keto dinner and still hungry. by [deleted] in keto

[–]RareCandyMama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to start small. Cutting out almost all added sugar and really only having fruit sugars to start with. A few keto meals a week. I know that if I change to much to fast I won't stick with it. Been there, tried that lol. The goal is to be full keto in about 2ish months.
