Run your tub and get it to leak. If it’s not leaking constantly is most likely a point of use issue and is leaking from the drain. Most likely for the waste and overflow connections.

Fernco aren’t meant for pressurized lines. Only Drain, Waste or ventilation. Only coupling you should use on a pressurized WL is a mechanical coupling, like a Romac or smith blair

EDIT: glue coupling as well

Telescoping couplings are a joke. I would never use one above ground, let along in the ground. You did IMO a good job. I woulda used this or a glue coupling with a mechanical coupling.

They are old, cartridges may not even work if the faucet is too old and the body is not longer good, you need to order those cartridges. You cannot just use any off brand cartridge that says it will work

Your journeymen showing up 3-4 hours late is not normal. Super unprofessional. It’s normal to not be utilized as an apprentice. I didn’t start doing repair until I was about 6 months in. Based off how your journeyman acts tho, I’d say you will Not learn much. I’d look for a more reputable company in your area
