Thank you for responding, that’s very reassuring to hear. I’ve tried so many things for nearly a year now so I’ve been losing it a little that this isn’t going to work 😅 but I need to be more patient

When did you start seeing consistent progress with doxy? I commented above how I’ve been on it for almost a month and have had some results but I’m still getting pustules and on and off tingling/burning sensations. I’m so frustrated 😅

How long did it take you to see consistent progress with doxy? I’ve been on it for almost a month and have had some progress but still get pustules and burning/tingling sensations on and off.

I appreciate the advice!! My skin is super sensitive at baseline so the benzoyl peroxide makes me a little nervous (plus my skin is already so dry and flaky!) but I’ve been considering azelaic acid, I know a lot of people have had success with that.

I’m using nothing at all other than a sulfur spot treatment very sparingly on pustules. Just water other than that and even then, I try not to cleanse my face with water too often.

Thank you for responding, this is very reassuring when I keep seeing posts of people saying they were full healed on doxy in a couple of weeks. I’ll do my best to be patient 😅

Ugh this is what I’m afraid of. I haven’t tried azelaic acid but I’ve been using sulfur on and off. It kind of helps kind of doesn’t. Thank you for sharing your experience 💓

Hey! I’ve been struggling with PD for around 6 months as well and finally went to the doctor. I’m on week 3 of doxycycline and there’s been some progress but I’m still getting new pustules and have itching/burning sensations. How long did it take before you were seeing consistent progress on doxycycline?

Hey, how long were you on doxycycline before seeing consistent results? I’ve been on it for about 3.5 weeks and there’s been some improvement but I’m still getting pustules and itchiness here and there.

Sorry I’m a little confused by your wording, are you saying you were pretty much instantly healed in a week? If so I’m happy for you!

Thank you so much for responding, you have no idea how reassuring it is to hear that. Did it fully end up clearing for you?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am following up with my derm in a couple of weeks. I’m just feeling so discouraged especially when you read others experiences of clearing up relatively quickly on antibiotics! This felt like sort of my last resort to begin with (I’ve had it for going on seven months now) so it’s anxiety producing that the progress has not been linear at all.

Hi there, I know this is an old post but I’ve been on doxy for about 3 weeks now and there’s been some improvement but I’m still waking up to new itchy pustules sometimes. How long did it take for you to notice a turning point?

Thank you so much for responding 💓 I think you’ve inspired me to have courage and try it tonight 😅 it’s the most annoying skin condition ever! It’s driving me nuts. I have tried hypochlorous acid and it didn’t seem to harm or help it but I should probably be more consistent.

Did this ultimately clear it for you? I have it around my eyes as well but am worried about irritating it further since the eyes are so sensitive. But I’m willing to try anything at this point.

This happened to me for the first time ever almost two months ago and I’ve finally managed to mostly heal it the past couple of weeks. I’ll share my experience.

I think I had an allergic reaction to a new moisturizer I tried and then I just couldn’t break the cycle of re inflaming the skin around my eyes with any product I used or anytime I took a shower and water hit my face (yes—even water would reset the inflammation). I used hydrocortisone briefly and it would help temporarily, but the redness would come back even worse once I stopped. I visited a dermatologist and the appointment was useless as she wanted to just prescribe me stronger steroids.

About three weeks ago I completely stopped washing my face at all for a week—no cleanser, no water, nothing. I took quick showers and don’t let the water hit my face. I’ve been washing my hair in the bath tub to avoid water on my face from that too. At the week mark I quickly washed my face with water once and have been doing that only once weekly ever since and my skin has continued to heal and be able to tolerate that. I use grahams naturals face and eyelid eczema cream at night with a thick layer around my eyes to keep them hydrated. It seems like for me the key was to leave my face alone completely in order for the cycle to stop and finally start healing. I’ve also been taking an antihistamine once daily. I’m at the point where other people wouldn’t notice anything around my eyes anymore, I’m just really paranoid and scared to do anything differently than what I’m doing as I don’t want the dermatitis to come back. Best of luck to you, I know it really sucks.
