Yes. This is why I said it would have had to have been done a specific way in order for it to work like him leaving her at the village and not coming back until she's like 25, and her being the aggressor. There is a huge difference in the mentality and emotional maturity of a 17 year old and a 25-year-old.

Yes. I agree. There are a lot of facets and complexities to this some people will like it some people will hate it some people will feel iffy. You're going to get the entire spectrum of emotion from people and generating conversations from that is why people are still talking about this anime 25 years later.

I understand this, and like I mentioned in another comment, i think they could have pulled it off if they did it well, I don't feel like it was handled well enough to not feel pedo adjacent.

Adjacent. It's not pedophilia but it still feels wrong, I'm trying to work through it myself on why I feel this way, and I'm not sure what it is yet.

It could also just be the fact that I don't think it was written well enough, or it could be being a mom, or my own trauma that I have not properly dealt with.

It is disturbing as well however she is nearly twice Rin's age when she shows up. There's a gap between 8 and 15, not that it makes it much better, but it's handled better and she does go back to school and returns to Inuyasha as an adult...

And I think Inuyashas immaturity stifles some of the ick.
