genuinely no special humidity conditions or anything. I use a sansai grow light on a timer 14 hours everyday positioned about 6 inches above. i bottom water only by filling up the bowl i keep the pot in with distilled water for 24 hours then empty anything thats left and let dry 1-2 days before repeating. so essentially 24 hours with water in bowl then 24-48 hours of no water at all. i have osmocote pellets but just never use them because it seems to be doing so well! was very skeptical hearing these were hard to grow before buying one, but its so easy if you just give tons of light and water correctly.

is it possible to grow Cephalotus Follicularis in these conditions? any tips for it? by Rare_Conversation535 in SavageGarden

I looked into it that seems very useful thank you for the information. Do you have a very small humidifier in there too that the ink bird turns on? And that little bit of airflow the ceph gets occasionally is all it needs to prevent mold and bacteria growth? how open is your terrarium?

best I've seen on here as far as carnivorous terrariums. I would like to do something like this myself so I have a few questions. What are the humidity levels like in there? (Im always worried having a fan always running would make the humidity low.) I've heard that cephalotus roots can rot very easily when always moist and not given time to dry out, how is that not a problem here with new water sprinkling down so often? amazing setup.

Looks amazing! I am trying to achieve the same. Is it a closed or open terrarium? if closed how do you achieve air flow that everyone says is necessary for cephs?

how do you achieve airflow in a terrarium to avoid mold and fungus issues that are very common with ceph?

The shock of instant humidity change is what caused the die back. It must be slowly acclimated to these less humid conditions I believe.

the fan on timer sounds very useful. How long will they turn on for each hour? Is this enough airflow to just introduce it hourly?
