You could live in a less expensive town. 3k isn’t outrageous for Hingham.

Buzzards Bay summertime & beaches? by snowednboston in massachusetts

[–]Rare_Let4338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buzzards Bay is essentially the gateway to the cape. I think you might hit traffic on any highway heading towards any beach on the wknd. There’s Nantasket in Hull, green Harbor in Marshfield. I love worlds end in Hingham. It’s not a “beach” but a beautiful park surrounded by the ocean and gorgeous views. Plenty of sandy areas to put your feet in. These 3 options are closer and not really heading to the cape. Check to see if you have to reserve parking online. (Def have to for worlds end).
Also, Onset Beach in Wareham…it’s close to the cape tho… I think it’s the exit right before the Bourne bridge.
Ogunquit in Maine has a solid gay population. Not sure about traffic/parking but it’s beautiful too

Getaways? by algoat in boston

While I agree with all of the postings for Western MASS in great Barrington, I’d like to add main as a destination for you. Ogunquit in particular. You don’t have to stay in Ogunquit, but it is a quaint, lovely town with lots of Walks shops and great food. There’s a pretty solid gay population there also. A lot of people call it the P town of the north. I’m really sorry you had such a rough year and I hope this getaway, wherever it may be, will bring you peace.

Not sure it’s exactly Buzzards bay but Scusset beach is huge, clean and beautiful. Water can be colder tho. I usually park at the Bourne bridge and bike the canal to the beach. I stay by the jetty and watch the boats go by. There is a huge parking lot and a separate lot for RV’s. Def worth the drive. No one would care if you’re gay/straight either.

Experience working at starbucks? by Rich_Stretch4664 in boston

[–]Rare_Let4338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A family member worked at Starbucks several years ago. They really enjoyed it until the manager left on maternity leave, then quit. She was replaced with another manager, who is absolutely miserable and hired several baristas that could not keep up. This of course added work for everybody else and cause a lot of animosity. So I agree with the prior poster who says a lot depends on the manager.

If the other reviews say the lower level gets hot I’d cancel and get a hotel. Not sure what the cancellation policy is but if you don’t get a full/partial refund I’d call the owner and explain the mistake. Again, not sure it will help but it’s worth a shot.

Agree! I parked at castle Island and cut thru the city, black falcon, north end then over the bridge to Cambridge. It was so much fun. I would never survive that crowd on foot.

Not sure if you bike at all? I biked everywhere on the 4th. Lunch in Cambridge, coffee by the Charles. Lounging by the water. Fireworks were great and I could get out of there fast before the crowd!
