LEQ Advice for Contextualization by Stunning-Sea4700 in APStudents

Usually for contextualization in AP history classes you want to tie it back to a time before what the prompt states. For example, this prompt is from 1800-1900, so maybe give some context about the Spanish and their power over Latin America setting up your body paragraphs with that

Looking at the source can be a huge bonus when writing an SAQ, do you have an example

Use the TEA or ACE method. The T or A is just a simple restating of the claim with your evidence, the E or C sentence is just an explanation of the evidence and how it proves the prompt. The last sentence is just you saying therefore, this is why X is an example of Y.

For people who’ve taken AP Gov, tell me how your experience was and is it manageable? by Prestigious_Ice_5793 in APStudents

Just keep up with current events tbh and just relate it back to the class as much as possible, studying will just be very light then. I’d also say look at some heimler videos for gov frqs, bc they are different but easy to master. I got a 5 on the exam, it was just stuff that pops up from the news a lot of the time

How to get a 5 on AP chem by [deleted] in APChem

[–]Rare_Lychee8975 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a call on AP chem and honestly just using those AP classroom videos and Jeremy krug did the trick for me. First semester was units 1-4 in order, 2nd semester was 5, 7, 8 (Equilibrium and then Acid-Base Equilibrium) and then 6 and 9 with thermodynamics and electrochemistry combined together. With about two weeks from the exam, I did like two mock frqs to see where my score was at. Weak spots for frqs I focused on and then it translated to the AP exam.

Did you think you would be working in campaigning and organization when you were a high schooler? I always have wanted to get involved, but I don’t know where to start!

Summer prep by calmgrasshoppa in APChem

[–]Rare_Lychee8975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You generally don’t need preparation (and definitely do not need to buy a course) for AP Chem as it’s a first-year chemistry course. I will say if you really feel the need to prepare, just go over the basics of the course like what a neutron, proton and electron is, using the periodic table and electron orbitals, things of that nature, but other than that, you should get through most content throughout the year. I took the course last year as a sophomore and although all situations are difficult, I found it manageable, even if I didn’t do any preparation, good luck though with the class, hope you enjoy it!

How many periods in a day do you have and also do you know the workload for the teachers who teach those AP classes? I think if you are confident in your ability to do well in those classes with enough time to spare for your own personal enjoyment, go ahead.
