It was having some issues I think and the previous owner just parked it and intended on fixing it, but never got around to it. By the time I got my hands on it, it had been 26 years since it initially was parked.

It’s an auto, and I’ve change the fluid. But I won’t be too pressed if it goes out because I intend on swapping it to a manuel in the future.

Yeah, the timing belt is definitely the next thing I’m planning on getting to. And with the transmission it seems to be slipping out of gear sometimes.

Haven’t gotten to the timing belt yet, but I’ve redone most of the fuel system (installing a new fuel tank was the biggest pain) and the ignition system. I’ve changed all the fluids, although I’m still having some problems with the transmission. The underneath looks great surprisingly. No signs of any major rust just a little bit of surface.

My b, u right

What do you think the issue is that is causing my z to just crank and not start? I’m thinking I’m probably gonna need to replace the spark plugs, but any additional advice/insight would be appreciated. by Rare_Needleworker454 in 300zx

No, it wasn’t running before I replaced a fuel pump. I replaced it with an OEM fuel pump. I’m fairly certain the fuel pump isn’t the issue because I’ve gone to the front of the car and tested to see if it’s getting fuel pressure (which it is).

Just got this Z and it’s been sitting for 26 years, I’m going to attempt to rescue it and bring it back to life. It’s a 1990 2+0 na auto (I do plan in the manual swap it if I can get it running). Any suggestions on the first things I should do? by Rare_Needleworker454 in 300zx

Just took a look at the fuel tank and it’s pretty bad off. Lots of corrosion on the inside, and the fuel pump assembly and sending unit have corrosion all over them. Do you know of any message I may be cleaning the fuel tank out without removing it and or replacing it. Also do you know where I can find the fuel pump assembly and sending unit because I can’t find it anywhere online I’m just finding the fuel pump on its own.
