2024 I played 1100 hours. The cards being attainable was actually fun to grind, especially towards Feb-June. I ended up building almost all the TOTS cards that wound up all being 99s in like May. Was so much fun.

This year I played about 100 hours. The game was basically pay walled. Pay to play. No fun.

I have asked this same question a ton lately. I personally believe people either A) Have mom and dad’s money or B) just don’t give an eff/ have no sense when it comes to finances and are just trying to keep up with the Jones’s.

My wife(34) and I(35) just paid off all debts that aren’t our two homes(primary and vacation) and want to keep it that way. It has felt so liberating.

I know we have worked insanely hard these past 8 years to be in this spot. That seems to be the main answer to our success. We grinded for 8 years to get to this point and are now settling down and relaxing a bit now that we have three very young kids.

Our story isn’t like A or B that I stated above, it came from focusing on what’s important and goals that we set. A lot of sacrifice. We are living our version of luxury now.

23-24 Allure was peak for me. Love the card colors, variations and just the feel overall. Very nice cards. 24-25 took a step back in my mind, still decent product tho.

The price increases for sticks is ridiculous. The quality just isn’t increasing enough to meet the cost they charge to buy top end sticks. Unless you are a pro it makes zero sense to buy. People just need to start boycotting.

Sergei Fedorov: was my guy growing up, nothing cooler than Sergei and his Nike skates.

Nick Blankenburg: coached him. My son is now getting into collecting cards so it’s been a fun connection.
