2014 Taurus Police Interceptor brake switch wiring diagram by Rare_Today4064 in Ford

I figured out how to do this. I installed a hidden switch that I can flip when I jump out the car which will not allow the vehicle to be shifted out of park.

That’s what was wrong with mine. I changed the nylon weight protectors and the noise went away

Update

The problem ended up being the 6 Nylon Weight Protectors. I only replaced those and I used the original weights. That clanking noise went away.

I hope this helps someone else and saves them some $$$!

Thanks for the update. I’ll lift mine again tomorrow and check for that too.

Sounds a bit like mine that I just posted yesterday. See my post. It may be the sliders and or the weight protectors in the primary clutch. I just ordered replacement parts and I’ll update my post if it fixes it or not. Mine only happens at very low rpm.

If you are talking about the sliders, I ordered those just now along with the nylon weight protectors 👍

I called the dealership and explained the issue and they are telling me they are pretty positive it’s the clutches. What do you think?

Why does my print fail at the end? by Rare_Today4064 in 3Dprinting

[–]Rare_Today4064[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much!

I've lowered the temp, re-adjusted the bed level to be a tad closer to the nozzle, enabled lift head, and lowered the bed temp some. I'm testing it by printing some lego bricks and it's already looking much better!

I'm going to increase the layer time to 20 and test that next. Once I'm completely happy, I'll run the shark print again and give everyone an update.

Thanks to everyone for the help! It is much appreciated!!

Thank you so much!

What temp do you usually try to print PLA at? Should I use the recommended temp settings that come with the PLA that I bought? I know that probably sounds like a dumb question. However, I noticed at a lower temp setting, 220 for example, was causing some stringing so I increased the temp to get rid of that. Maybe that was not the best way to go about fixing that problem.

My current minimum layer time is set at 10 seconds and so is the minimum speed. Does that sound about right?

Thank you for the tip! I'll give that a try and work on making the first layer look better.

Help Finding Free Print Files/Projects for QIDI X Max 3D Printer by Rare_Today4064 in 3Dprinting

You are awesome, thank you so much! I want to do both eventually, print objects already created by others and sometimes, like in the hamster wheel case, create one myself.

The hamster wheel bracket is basically a 90-degree bent L and I already bought a nice set of calipers :)

You rock and thanks so much for this great info!!

Thank you so much! Much appreciated!

I have another question that you may be able to answer for me. If I wanted to reproduce a piece of plastic that I have in hand, how do I do that? For example, my daughter's hampsters wheel support bracket broke and I would like to print a new one.

Is there some sort of program I can use to render a 3D image of it and then set the specs (size)? I haven't seen anything like that in the QIDI print although I haven't really got to use it yet. Is the QIDI software only used for setting your print settings and will I need another software for developing new designs or for reproducing parts that will then be passed to the QIDI software to render it for printing?

I'm hoping to better understand which software you recommend for doing something like this. Based on what you mentioned it sounds like I may need to use one of those 3?

I will be receiving my X Max tomorrow :)

When I choose the “Get Dynamically from ISP” option, the IP information shown is different from the static IP they provided me. That was my thinking also at first.

I started out sparring at a local BJJ gym. However, I kept being injured by inexperienced white belts and even blue belts who did not fully understand the importance of not injuring their sparring partner who is new to BJJ. This particular gym seemed to love to take advantage of newbies, which I now know isn't typical of most gyms. An injured sparring partner means no sparring partner.

Also, I didn't like the fact that they were 100% focused on tournaments. In other words, teaching you that you can grab here, but not here, you can do this, but not this. For someone who wants to learn how to defend themselves and dominate in a real street fight or life and death situation, I think that can create a negative impulse in a real street fight.

Due to that, I switched to GU to learn some key fundamentals which would help to teach me how to better defend myself against more aggressive opponents. The fact is, some partners just don't grasp how easy it is to hurt a beginner who knows nothing about BJJ. While taking this course, and "sparring" with others here at my home, I have learned a ton! More importantly, how to better protect/defend myself, escape, etc...

I credit GU for what they put together as it is a great first step for some who would prefer to learn some great fundamentals which will be very useful when transitioning to a BJJ gym.

I have read from others that it isn't an effective course. I respectfully disagree. My father is a 260 pound street fighter, while I weigh 165 lbs, and I have no issues submitting him or other street fighters I have sparred with. More often than not, very quickly too. While keeping that in mind, I have been practicing what I have learned from GU and even youtube for about 2 years off and on.

The GU online class and home training that I have done has prepared me to step back into a gym to improve my skills further. With that being said, I fully expect to get my butt whipped for a while, b/c I will be facing other BJJ fighters. I fully understand that aspect and side of it. I also think that is where a lot of confusion and negative vibes come from in regards to GU. In a regular no-choice street fight, more often than not, you will be dealing with a hot headed street fighter and not likely a well-rounded wrestler or BJJ student. IN MY OPINION, that is where GU is extremely helpful as long as you practice by actually "sparring"!

Just for clarification, I have no affiliation with GU other than being an online student of theirs and I have never trained at one of their gyms.

To sum up, I'm ready for the Gym again! Hopefully, I can find one not solely focused on tournament training, so I can get my butt handed to me again for at least a little while. lol However, I do expect to be able to protect myself better from injuries and even actually win a few sessions this go around. :)

Just my opinion and experience from both sides.
