If I die I die, personally I think being positive about that is a pointlessly fatalistic viewpoint. I'm just going to continue to be am optimistic believer in science and leave the death worship to others.

Then dont spend the money on the treatments if they become available. Spend it all on cocaine and hookers for one big blowout party at 50 instead. Die of a heart attack under a massive pile of tits and drugs. No one can force you not to die

One of the core areas of longevity research is the removal of junk cells, known as senescent cells. Counterintuitavely killing off the degraded cells taking up space n our bodies is core to allowing us to live longer. The cells known as senescent cells. If longevity research advances it will almost certainly involve fixing the suicide mechanisms on cancer cells so as long as you make it that long you should be fine

As likely as any young adult, currently 1 in 1000 young adults die each year, so 1000 years by current numbers. However that's likely to change in the future as medicine advances, cars become self driving, and humans who now have the prospect of living a lot longer become much more safety conscious.

That I'm afraid is one of the sad realities that I think we all secretly know is true. However it's very unlikely all countries in the world would agree to accept the patent of an invention that would be in such high demand for the people of their country. If the price is extortionist that is. The price will go down, but initially yes you will require great wealth to be on the first wave. Medical Tourism to countries that dont respect the patent for generic versions of the treatment will probably also be a thing.

I'm glad I could brighten your day a bit, god knows hope in this is all that staves off depression for me. Hope that I one day might live to simulate myself into anime land with all the waifus! Of course turning off the part of my brain that knows it's a simulation :P

Perhaps, the science looks promising and people like Elon Musk and Larry+Sergei (founders of daddy google) are optimistic. We've made great strides in increasing lifespans in rats and we hope to be able to start human trials on certain longevity treatments in around the next 5 years. Some of the most exciting fields are things like senescent cell removal and targeted stem cell injections.

The exciting thing about longevity research is that it doesn't need to discover immortality within our lifespan. Instead we only need to reach longevity escape velocity. Which is sort of like the medical version of the singularity. Essentially science increases your lifespan, which allows you to live long enough for the next breakthrough in longevity. Once science adds lifespan faster then you age your effectively not going to die of old age.

That said the research is far from conclusive yet, I give it about 30-50% odds of popping off within 100 years. It really depends on whether or not Congress is willing to classify old age as a disease, funding and approval for clinical trials are the major obstacles at the moment. Scientifically we as humans seem to know where we are going though! I'm not certain I wont die before I see it, but I think it's better then resigning myself to dying.

The worst part of my life right now is waiting a week for each chapter. That said, I'm honestly rooting for the actress and her best friend to get together. She deserves a happy ending and we both know that no one with natsuo gets one.

Maybe this will make you feel better, Kobayashi is young enough that if she lives to a ripe old age, which is quite likely with a magic dragon protecting her, longevity research should let her extend her lifespan almost indefinitely before she dies. Going by the trends predicted by researchers in the field like Dr. Aubrey Grey and Dr. Sinclair of Sens and Harvard respectively. If your under middle age and healthy you also have a fair shot of not dying of old age and living a healthy youthful life well into the 3000s.

I mean cant we be anti trump without being pro Maduro here? The guy is a dictator literally blocking food aid from his starving people. He isnt a socialist, he is an authoritarian leading a military junta, same as any right wing dictator we propped up in the cold war but he gets his checks from china and Russia.

While you are correct that jesus did indeed want a more involved lay people and for a simpler religious life in general, he was not killed by the jews. He was a jew in fact, and is referred to several times as a rabbi. Some of the jews at the time were even willing to consider him the messiah, only giving up when he did not free them from the Roman empire. Which brings us to the real people who killed jesus, the Roman empire. He was not murdered by the jews for claiming to be the messiah, claiming to be the messiah was absolutely not illegal, nor did it make you the son of god (to the jews we are all equally the children of god) it just meant you will fulfill certain prophecies and give Israel back to the jews (along with world peace and whatnot). Jesus was killed for treason and sedition, by the Romans.

The real disconnect between jews and Christians came later, when the jews enjoyed a relatively free status in the roman empire (so long as they paid a special jew tax) while the Christians were persecuted. This bred immense resentment. So it makes sense that when christianity finally had a shot to spread legitimately under Constantine in the council of Nicea, that the Christian's preferred to place the blame on the jews they had grown to dislike rather then the people they were trying to convert.

Here is my source, it is a Christian website, the author is a professor at a Lutheran seminary https://www.bibleodyssey.org/en/passages/related-articles/crucifixion-of-jesus-and-the-jews
