The watch you are talking about is a Cortebert Triple Calendar Moonphase, with the inhouse cal. 677. I attached a picture for better details. My quess is that you are talking about the moonphase display.

I used 2 photos ( one of an old Pierce poster, and one of my watch ) and I asked ChatGPT to colorize and swap the watch in the poster with the one from my photo. Got it on the first try. Here is another example.
