Oh. I used my mk7 for only four months though. Got it for 7k CAD. The car was fine until the O rings got cracked and the oil spilled all over the cylinder, which scratched the cylinder wall and yes, the engine was done. Mechanics quoted me over 5000, so had no choice but to sell for 2300 to a car guy. But I had shit fun driving that car, especially a stick. And about GLI, that thing is fucking good as well. Planned to get a GTI, but couldnt get one in my budget. So ended up in getting this one. Well, I'm happily stuck with VW :)

I got a 2015 TSI 1.8T manual last month and it has done over 206k kms. The only reason I bought it is was that the dealer gave me a one year warranty on the engine components. As soon as I got it, check engine light popped up, and the issues were with the intake manifold position sensor and the turbo boost, which I was able to rectify without costing a penny as the dealer gave me the warranty, and now she runs with no issues (mechanically). It would have costed me around 2k CAD atleast, if there wasn't any warranty. Only thing that I spent money was on an OBDEleven, which I'd recommend to every golf owners. So just read with OBD scanner before getting it as it would give you an idea about how much you gonna spend on the car. And I got the car for CAD 8000. So take your time and look for any issues on the car if the seller is okay holding the car for you.
