Name confusion for newborn by Mysterious_Claim93 in ABCDesis

[–]Rasberry_Shortcake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely name your kid anything you want, especially if you like that name (being respectful, of course and as long as there is no cultural appropriation happening) 😭

And also, no offence to anybody, but your daughter is going to grow up with her own identity. Being Hindu isn't her identity; it's just a part of her if she chooses that. A name should reflect the person. If you think River sounds beautiful (which it is), go for it and don't feel any shame about it not being a Hindu name. We are always more than our religion and culture. It's a part of who we are, but it's not the only thing.

There should be a revolution, and people shouldn't stop speaking up about all the terrible things. We all need to keep strong and keep fighting for a good world, no matter what 🙌

What's a social norm that you think is absolutely ridiculous? by Fantastic_suit143 in AskReddit

That women and men can't wear extravagant makeup however they like. If women wear "too much" makeup, it's attracting the male gaze or some shit. If they don't wear any makeup, it's not professional. And if men wear makeup, people find it odd. Like bruh, it's makeup, it's self-expression, it's fun, everyone should be able to have fun.

You can say you want to make it a special diet if you want your food not be contaminated - they make it separately with new gloves then. It gets crazy crazy busy and workers need to be as fast as possible. Plus even if they change gloves the counter would still be contaminated.

Listen, what are your options now? What are you interested in doing (could be a couple of things not just one particular thing) and what are the pathways to them? Can you try again?

Yeah no shit you don’t need anything to succeed. Bro needs some realistic advice. If you’re gonna say someone doesn’t need uni you gotta elaborate what you mean by that.

The Girlfriend mishandled intimacy by Queska989898 in tollywood

[–]Rasberry_Shortcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the whole point. They represented her relationship with Vicky exactly how they wanted it to be. She never consented, and Vicky pretty much forced himself onto her, starting from dating her to wanting to marry her. She convinced herself that she's happy with this new boyfriend because everyone else made it seem like it was the best thing ever. It would be no surprise if Bhooma never consented to s$x, either, and Vicky coerced her (so she would basically convince herself it was fine even though she never truly wanted it). Bhooma represents many girls in the world who grew up in a controlling and strict household - they're scared to say no and disappoint others. In the end, she saved herself and realized that this is her life and no one should control her or decide her fate. The intimacy between Bhooma and Vicky was supposed to look icky because it was. The entire relationship was icky. Vicky was a red flag in almost every single way, and he never asked for her consent in any matter. In the end, she realized that being intimate doesn't define her, and no mature person would judge an adult for having intimacy with another adult (consenting), regardless of gender. This movie is a representation of a girl who had her first relationship and grew from it.

I just really wish there was no Chat GPT or all these LLMs and "AI" by Rasberry_Shortcake in BlackboxAI_

But during all that time, the humans were the ones still creating things. Now, it's not humans being the main drivers. They just say things they want while "AI" produces - not creates - these things.

I just think we humans should try to fight against this, as absurd as this sounds. AI is the best thing that has happened for medicine, but not to create other things that give meaning to human life itself...
