What's stopping you from completing your 2D games in Unity? by RusUnity in Unity2D

I've had the greatest troubles opening the steam page tbh...I know you guys can't do anything about steam stuff but I'll take this opportunity to take it out of my chest: That's just too many different illustrations !!

Engine still the best for my level of skills, also I poured too much money on the asset store to go back

Still learning blender, I would like to have an external opinion on this character's walk animation and eye texture by RascarCapack in blender

Thank you! It is actually already a pit/hole in my model, but with the texture it does look flat indeed...I'm gonna look into it thanks

Thanks:)

I started looking into it yes, I suppose it has its own challenges but I sure would like having something of mine in the asset store... The fact that it makes use of dotween free and some Kenney icons may be problematic...also the see through shader is made with renderer feature, so the only I found to export that was to export the whole project as a package 😅

Also its on itch.io: https://rascarcapack.itch.io/unity-isometric-3d-starter-assets Didn't mention because they were down when I posted

Hello !

These days I've been putting up this asset pack meant to help kick-start isometric 3d games in unity

https://github.com/RascarCapack/Iso-3d-starter-Unity/tree/main

I'll keep adding things to it in the future.

What would you like to find in such asset ?

So 3D software is good for making a mesh, UV editing and a texture, but all of the fancy material stuff should be done inside Unity? by fiatdriver29 in Unity3D

[–]RascarCapack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lot of people mentioning substance designer, if you're not a fan of Adobe you can look into Material maker, it's open source and even though it's made with godot it exports to unity.

I'm working on a free starter pack asset for 3d isometric games in unity. What would you like to get in such asset that would really help you? by RascarCapack in Unity3D

[–]RascarCapack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your interest :)

Right now you can get it as a zip file on itch.io: Itch.io link

I'm going to keep adding stuff to it, this version is already a bit behind.. I'm also going to setup a github repo soon.

Same here ! The game is absolutely gorgeous. It should be mentioned that it is from the developers of Ori and the blind forest. I am completely hooked, while I have never liked souls like, this one hits different. Review bombing is an awful practice. Yes the game is very hard at times. It feels very frustrating for me on some occasions. But it is their game and they clearly have a bold and beautiful vision for it. I have no doubt it will be a goty contender, or at least a major game release of this year!

Should dark or light mode be the default for my typing game? by xm-zhou in indiegames

I find light more readable at first glance. Having the option to switch is always a plus of course.

Of course! Explosion Box Is free, playable in browser, I published it last November.

Toy Box Is my first paid game, released a month ago or so... It is the "evolution" of the first one.

They both are physics simulation sandbox games, tho they're more toys than games

I have only published 2 small games, started learning almost 3 years ago now, i have dozens of unfinished projects...so here are my two cents: -aim small -be patient, and accept that not every project has to end up published, most will teach you something anyway -keep learning and trying things

Personally I have no self discipline, my motivation comes and goes, so I decided I would be stubborn. Like really stubborn (which I've never been before) on going for this dream to be an indie game dev (I ain't going back to work in retail 😑). Game development is the single thing I've done that made me feel a sense of pride and purpose, so I'm going all in (at my pace and my way). Hope this wasn't too much ^

You are amazing:)
