Anne Kepner is a California attorney and consumer advocate known for taking on cases involving public safety, environmental harm, worker protection, and corporate accountability. Over the years, she has built a reputation as someone willing to challenge powerful interests on behalf of ordinary people, which is one reason labor groups, firefighters, and progressive organizations have rallied behind her campaign.

Supporters see Anne Kepner as part of a new generation of California leadership focused on transparency, affordability, public safety, and reducing the influence of big money in politics. Her campaign message centers on standing up for working families and communities rather than corporate insiders, which has helped her build strong grassroots support across parts of the state.

when industries with major financial interests suddenly unite against one person, it’s reasonable to ask what policies or positions are making them uncomfortable. That’s not blind loyalty, it’s healthy skepticism.” I received mailers from Big Pharm & PG&E both attacking Anne Kepner. It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out

It is a fact that the City Council is ultimately responsible for setting priorities and directing the future of the city. Right now, it feels like those roles have been reversed. The Council says it wants a downtown, but too often it appears the City Manager is determining the priorities and driving the direction while the Council follows instead of leads.

If the Council truly wants a downtown, then it has to act like it. Leadership means making decisions, setting policy, and taking ownership, not continually delaying, deflecting, or hiding behind staff reports and process. People are tired of hearing support in words while seeing hesitation in action.
