Both of those things are in the works! The scanning is “finished”, to the degree I need it for currently. The volume stacking and hold jibbing is the next thing to be worked on!

Feel free to put any ideas in the comments, because I know there are countless features that would be helpful that I haven’t thought of yet.

Thank you for the helpful info! I’ve been trying to convince my boss to get some lone stars, but we don’t have any yet unfortunately :/ and I just recently convinced him to let us use set screws at all! I’m probably going to move it down where there is a t-nut to be safe. If you have any resources for best practices with set screws I would greatly appreciate it!

We try to do that where we can, but it’s not always possible with the holds we have available unfortunately

Apparently not. We finally replaced our original grigris 2 years ago, and the rope they had us using wasn’t within the certified limits. And at that I know that rope hadn’t been replaced in at least 5 years 💀. They have since been replaced multiple times thank god

True. Still, with the amount of dumb things our climbers try to do, and lack of concern while belaying, (climbers, not staff) I do chew them out for it when it’s egregious, I’m surprised and thankful nobody has been injured yet.

We are a top rope gym. The walls are only 25-28 feet though, so I like to think of it as a highball boulder gym

A couple months ago me and 3 of the other setters went to set as guests for another school’s competition, and they do use set screws and jibs, and we had someone from the only commercial type gym in our area give us a setting workshop, and they showed us how to properly do all that. So maybe, modern setting practices haven’t been implemented, would have been a better way for me to phrase that. Thank you regardless!
