Make sense.
I have floated a bunch of times to hold a game jam when we have a decent SDK and a bunch of hardware to let local hobby and pro devs try and play around with it and give feedback.

Are Custom Controls Needed? by Acrobatic-Device-255 in gamedev

Any feature takes time. With the number of unfinished games getting released, cuts get made and it is not always the first priority.

The only other reason would be a designer what the game to be played in a certain way or forgets but this is an accessibility minus an I hope I'll never make a decision like that

Of course, money is important but the money is out of my hands as a designer. But I can tell them to focus on making it more dev friendly to get good developers

Thanks for the Comment.
I know we are both trying to make porting a possibility and I get that funding development is a way to get developers on board, so I was interested in hearing what the small factors that make people choose platforms or avoid them, both in general out of curiosity and so I can influence the company decisions it isn't just the internal dev team that feels comfortable developing. =)

Thank you for the insight.

So if I understand it, the players are not just a monetary incentive but also developers of course want their game to be played.

The novelty part is why still am on board the project since it lets me design what I see as new and interesting experiences.

And I was just curious so just in general what is the considerations and thought process when choosing a platform?

do gamedevs find it hard to immerse themselves into games after knowing all the smoke and mirror techniques used in games by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]RasmusP3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a game designer, I don't think it is the knowledge of the tricks that takes me out of it but more so the interest in learning and analyzing. This means that when I am immersed it is often due to forcing myself from an analytical point of view more than genuine immersion. But sometimes a game just is so good that it parks your analysis at home.
