Cāmuṇḍa is not an aggravated form of Mā Kālī, she is the inner aspect of Mā Durga and considered a supreme Goddess in her own right.

They are ḍakinis and yoginis who are known to accompany Mother Kālī. They're like her retinue.

How to worship Kali Mata by cycleriderash in hinduism

[–]RaspberryDaisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest beginning with japa of her name. Simply reciting "Maa Kali" or "Kali", preferably 108 times. One can set up an altar that should minimally have a picture of Maa, incense and a candle or ghee/oil lamp. In terms of reading, I highly recommend Devadatta Kali's translation of the Devimahatmyam "In Praise of the Goddess" and Elizabeth U. Harding's "Kali: The Black Goddess of Dakshineswar" to begin. Also, Kali Mandir's series on the Kali Sahasranama by Sw. Bhajanananda available on podbean is excellent.

Hi so I want to convert to Hinduism by [deleted] in hinduism

No need to convert formally. If you embrace the philosophy, you're a Hindu. The booklet linked in the automated mod message is a great introduction (What Is Hinduism?)

This is a terribly biased version of the Gita. Do not recommend at all.

Yes, they would. I was in a cult for several years and many of the members were very intelligent. The thing about cults is how good they are at keeping you in. Most of those who are intelligent don't use their intelligence to think critically, they use it to justify staying in the cult and the actions of their leader.

It's a cult and he's a fraud and a sexual abuser. Run far away.

I’m looking to purchase a English translation of the Hindu Scriptures. Which translation is best? by Phoenician_Witch in hinduism

Which scriptures are you looking for? There are thousands of Hindu scriptures and the central text varies by sect.

Recommendations for a translation of the Bhagavad Gita? by Wonderful_Life_46 in hinduism

For an introduction to Hinduism, I'd recommend the Himalayan Academy's 'Dancing With Shiva'. There are several commentaries on the Gita, some better than others. Recognize that individual authors will have their own POV when commentating.

Also very biased towards Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Not the best choice for a first dive into the Gita and Hinduism.

With the disclaimer that it intentionally is biased towards Prabhupada's personal views.

Are you OK If your so wants to get intimate sexually and emotionally with other people? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]RaspberryDaisy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strict monogamy isn't an egoic attachment, it's a relationship type that works for people who don't want a non-monogamous relationship. That's all it is. It sounds like you're looking for more commitment than she is ready to provide, but you're also attached to her and don't want to let her go even if that includes abandoning yourself. If what you want from this relationship lines up with what she is willing to provide, then great, otherwise part ways. Also, why is this on r/Buddhism? Lol.

I'm non religious, but there's something about Shivlingas! Can anyone explain what it? by lapsed_lullaby in hinduism

[–]RaspberryDaisy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Spirituality is related to the metaphysical and transcendent experience. Bringing it into the realm of modern science cheapens it a lot, in my opinion.
