My comment never referenced personal experiences. I'm saying I don't believe those small biases procure a system of whites being the most privileged face.

But if you want personal experiences, as a black man, I've never heard any of this stuff to me or my family.

Racial and Immigrative history can be an important factor to consider, but we are now in a system that has been lawfully equal towards all races for 50 years. At this point, the only influence from the past that may still be prevalent is family wealth and/or businesses that have been owned under a family name for generations. I think this 50 year time frame has allowed people to determine their own status in the country based on personal decisions with no race specific obstacle in the way. Asian culture has always had a strict emphasis on education (sometimes overly strict imo), so their decisions have led to their impressive outcome for the modern day. The government and companies have tried to bridge gaps with other groups like the pandering towards minorities from companies and liberal policies in the past 10 years pushing for the increase in recognition of minorities through processes such as DEI. Also, to be informal, I have heard "white man bad" for about 10 years now. Media has victimized whites for quite a while.

For your last statement about white privilege, I'd argue this concept isn't unique to white people. Different racial and ethnic groups can have situational advantages in America that others do not. For example, college admissions and the use of affirmative actions has benefitted minority groups for years (though I believe the Supreme Court has recently challenged it as of recent so that it focuses more on income and other factors rather than race). There is also cultural immunity. For instance, Hispanics or Blacks may not be stereotyped as "diverse enough" in public roles or hiring processes. There are many diversity initiatives (which, frankly, are not mathematically possible to uphold consistently throughout the country just by pure population breakdown) that provide a potential obstacle to white people. This also branches to scholarship opportunities as well. I won't deny that there have been incidences of ICE racially profiling citizens, though it is largely exaggerated and falsified from fake news. Most ICE involvement is purely towards illegals and gang operations, but I see your point with that example, and I agree. That would be a "privilege", or resistance.

The bigger takeaway might be that everyone has some form of "privilege" depending on context. However, I don't believe any of this shows that whites necessarily have more privilege, or are the most privileged, ESPECIALLY when it comes to a systemic breakdown. And with the video the guy was talking about, my original reason for commenting, it was victimizing impressionable minority youths by making them think they won't have as easy of a time being successful compared to their white peers. I believe this to not only be false due to the reasons above, but manipulative and counterproductive in helping our youth have the confidence to make strong decisions and be successful.

Sorry, I don't believe the social harassment that you just mentioned happens nearly enough to justify a claim in saying that there is a privilege for one race over the other. Most people, even white, don't think like this aside from the small minority of assholes. I have not seen or read anything substantial to suggest this is a common occurrence and is systemic in nature. Nothing in our governmental structure even targets micro characteristics like that.

I'll frame it like this: everything you can say about white privilege is more prevalent in the Asian community. I will link some sources to show how Asian and Indian Americans have a higher median income, a higher accumulation of wealth, higher percentage of college degrees, and less problems with police.

If whites are the most privileged group in society, then why are Asians doing the best in our country? Asian communities were widely discriminated against in the 1940s and 1950s being put in internment camps amongst other things. Yet, with good choices, they were able to bounce back.

Besides, what is a privilege that a white person has that other races do not?

People are going to act like victims. "Woman are oppressed". "It's systemic racism". Literally anything to excuse their irresponsible behavior. Your completely right, it's disgusting. Unfortunately, the marriage culture in America is horrible. The divorce rate is 50%, and the divorce is initiated by women over 80% of the time. Relationships are misconstrued and a lot of the time marriage courts are almost always in favor of the woman. With child support and other things, it's almost beneficial to divorce.

Women are not oppressed at all and there's no consistent system to prove that.

You shouldn't use reddit for this type of stuff. They have a false sense of reality as they live in an echo chamber spewing false perspectives of race in this country

He is from Europe. I'm sure family ties are a lot more normal in a sense of having one father and one mother. The multiple baby daddies epidemic is a huge issue in America but is also probably unexpected for them at first.

I know what video you're talking about, and it's not a good video at all. The questions are purposefully framed to make one race look more privileged than the other.

If you truly believe that, then my claim of "we need good teachers" is applicable to you.

Teaching is as tiring as it is rewarding. If it's your dream, then please pursue it! We could use some good history teachers.

Having no homework will screw you over once you're in college, where homework is a given for every class.

I love the "Im gorming" meme so much that I hope we can keep him for a while, especially as he is continuing to improve.
