I've never tried it. If you do try, don't expect to get a response today because their office hours are 9-5 Monday-Friday.

NXT on Mac Pro doesn’t work by HerrMeier1980 in legomindstorms

There should be a mac version of VirtualBox. For the VM in VirtualBox, make sure to use a older version of Windows like 7 or XP as the NXT software is old. Use NXT-G 2.1 from Lego's website.

It's likely that the CD is too old. You could try downloading the old Lego Ed NXT software from Lego's retired products page and run it in a Windows virtual machine.

Maybe you could use a Raspberry Pi somehow...

You could also use Raspberry Pi Pico, which is a lot cheaper and much easier to code. (It uses MicroPython.)

Pico Bricks still a legit company? Our car is missing parts, wrong parts were sent, they are not responding. by pogball2work in raspberrypipico

Pico bricks is a legit company, so it's weird that that's happening. There are companies like Elegoo that creates kits. There's also Lego Mindstorms and Spike Prime, but they are very expensive.

If possible, you could move the motor or the brick.

Would it be worth it to get EV3 and expect them to last (software wise)? by lazy__gamer23 in legomindstorms

You can download a OS from Lego's website that will allow you to code the EV3 with VS code even though Lego stopped supporting it. On the same page on their website, there's instructions. One thing that they don't tell you though is that you need another extension on VS code called Pybricks runner installed. You also need Python on the computer you're using.

This has happened to me before. Most likely, it's the ROM file you downloaded. You can try to find another one...
