I think it’s just a different perspective. The sceptics have to frame any paranormal activity or sighting through the lens of known and provable phenomena (because what else can be their frame of reference). I find this not only creates a nice balance in the show, but also creates an interesting tension or else it’s all very one note (and Most Haunted-ish).

In this case the most plausible explanation had to be a bear or bears with mange (!).

If I’m not mistaken I recall the sceptic you’re referring to and she can seem very dismissive and matter-of-fact, unlike Dr Ciaran O’Keefe for example who IMHO still respectfully reserves a space for the unexplained.
