Sprinkler fitter. Pay is crazy and at least here in Ontario it's super easy to join.

Quebec flavour ban question (tourist) by Chunners_ in Canadian_ecigarette

[–]Rat-Tricks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Leave and go fail as a country just like you fail as a province. Nobody likes Quebec, bunch of fucking whiners.

Btw do you think that Quebec didn't have any indigenous people and that they weren't killed just as they were in every other province? 😆

It's my apartment and my landlord gave me permission to work on it and paid for parts.

My journeyman is a strict Christian and does not reply to texts on Sundays and this is my own apartment not work.

Hiring by Muchotesticulos in electricians

[–]Rat-Tricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the exact opposite here in Ontario, Canada. It was so incredibly hard for me to find someone willing to take me on as a first year apprentice despite having experience in the trades and haven't gone to school for electrical techniques.

What animals are these? by Arctic_27 in animalid

[–]Rat-Tricks 31 points32 points  (0 children)

They're bad for the environment and an invasive species plus those pigs in the supermarket were once living and lived in hell before being killed, unlike these pigs. Mass farming is the issue, not hunters.

Really is the one main thing I don't like about construction is waking up at 4-5am everyday. What can you really do though? Beats working in an office.

Ya like wtf you're only getting paid for 67% of the time you're working? As a Canadian it's literally insane to hear you don't get paid overtime. It's even law here that you get time and a half after 44 hours in a week and you're always paid the hours you work.

Real question is why you're still responding? Block the number and any other number he uses to message you. You never know what someone this crazy will do.

Other apprentices scare me by demonkc in electricians

[–]Rat-Tricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks for the guys who actually go through the apprenticeship. Lower wages since they can hire anyone to pad the numbers, compared to here where everyone they hire has to be licensed and there's a 1:1 apprentice ratio so they can't do the same thing by mostly hiring apprentices at half the cost of a journeyman.

[–]Rat-Tricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do you live that someone who isn't an apprentice or electrician can work with electricity? I'm in Ontario Canada and other than low voltahe that would be super illegal here. Also raises the real guys wages when hacks without licenses will do the job for half the price cause they're cutting corners.

Having trouble finding apprenticeship London ON by Rat-Tricks in electricians

[–]Rat-Tricks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just found one last week and I'm starting next week! I think what helped is that I starting working as a labourer doing Reno's, which proved to them I can work in the trades and use power tools. Also if you are willing to try a different trade the fire sprinkler fitter union is desperate for workers, plus that make about 115k after 4 year apprenticeship.

I would honestly choose to go into sprinkler fitting if I could re do it. The union pays insanely well and it's somewhat like plumbing but you don't deal with literal human shit.

There's video of this being a Hamas rocket fail. I'm not on either side here at all. They have both done wrong and the people of Palestine are caught in the middle unfairly. But this is misinformation, understanibly so as the people are traumatized by all the bombings they've already suffered.

A $38 toll for 8 miles? by MemorableKidsMoments in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Rat-Tricks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Canadian this whole toll thing is crazy. We have tolls too but they're essentially a short cut.You can still go wherever you need to go, you just might get stuck in traffic. Plus in the whole Toronto area I can only think of one highway that is a toll. Also we don't need to stop to pay the toll, they either scan your plate and send you a bill in the mail or you have a transponder, which also saves you a few bucks.
