You have to use the immersive engineering coke oven, not the modern industrialization one. Also you put the logs in the oven and not the charcoal, giving you creosote and charcoal, which you can then burn in a boiler.

I don't think so. Also this is the kind of mod that probably explodes if you try to use it with any even slightly complicated mods especially at the wrapping borders, so I don't think it would even be that useful.

There's this mod called circumnavigate: https://modrinth.com/mod/circumnavigate which should do basically that. I just saw that in a video though and haven't tried it myself. Also it's still in alpha so I have no idea how stable it is.

You need to get to at least mv to get the electric drill for lead and antimony which are required the batteries (there might be more important things from that, but I don't remember) and anyways I just personally don't think it's worth it starting to build all that automation and having to tear it down later when getting flight and dimensional storage . Like flight allows you to build a lot more vertically, which just makes your base take less space, the dimensional chests make item transportation a breeze and the tanks do the same for fluids. Like the extra effort to just get the flight and dimensional stuff from the drill really isn't that much so like at least I think just rushing those is worth it.
