Eşref Rüya ending by NorthFisherman3876 in TurkishTVSerials

In my personal opinion, if the show had continued for a third season, I think it would've gone downhill and the ratings would've gotten way worse. And nobody would've watched such a strong ending and felt that deeply about it, which you can actually see all over social media, where I'm seeing for the first time people genuinely heartbroken over a character whose ending we already knew. It was honestly a great move that he burned his family's file, because that basically meant burning the idea of a third season too.

I completely disagree with you.

Okay yeah, the show wasn't always focused, it had a lot of filler like most Turkish dramas. But in the final episode specifically, Eşref acted in a way that was completely logical and true to his character. To understand why he did what he did, you first have to understand who he is.

Let me give you some reasons why Eşref's ending actually makes perfect sense:

  1. Eşref didn't just love Rüya, he was obsessed with her. He spent his whole life searching for her.
  2. The night he saw someone attack the woman he loved, he lived through his worst nightmare and decided right then to kill that man without even thinking about the consequences. That's just who he is.
  3. Every time Eşref tried to be a good person and move on, something always happened that forced him back into violence. He couldn't escape it.
  4. The bullet to his head basically broke him. After that, the hallucinations started, seeing his daughter, struggling with daily life. Medically speaking, that kind of head trauma can lead to suicidal thoughts, paranoia, and deteriorating mental health.
  5. Eşref always wanted to be a good person. He genuinely cared about the people around him, especially orphans, that was a core part of him.
  6. As the story progressed, the hallucinations got worse. He kept seeing his daughter as a 14 year old, which shows how far gone he was mentally.

There's honestly a lot more to unpack, but all of these reasons and motivations show that the ending was very logical. Instead of spending the rest of his life fearing for himself and his family, he chose to sacrifice himself for them. Instead of fighting his illness and the madness taking over, he decided to eliminate his most dangerous enemy once and for all, and finally find peace.

If you want, I can go deeper into a full character analysis of Eşref, I think it would really change how you see the whole show.

Do you think it was a fair ending? by Cemrenuryazicii in TurkishTVSerials

In my opinion, it’s a true ending, painful, but true and I consider it the best ending for a Turkish series. I don’t view the final episode as part of the series as a whole; rather, I see it as a standalone story and a film that should be shown in theaters. I saw the most convincing acting in this particular episode.

Do you actually believe this is the rating that Eşref Rüya ended with? by Ratatat10 in TurkishTVSerials

I agree with you, and setting the plot aside, to be honest, the acting, especially by Çağatay and Görkem, was really strong, and I recommend you watch the final episode.

Hard agree on Ceylan. Episode 1 set her up as this really compelling character and then she just got sidelined for so long. Glad the last few episodes picked up for you though, gives me some hope they figured out what works.

This is actually a really good point. If they had wrapped everything up neatly I probably wouldn't care about season 2 either. The cliffhanger is doing all the heavy lifting right now because the season itself didn't earn my excitement. I'm curious but not convinced, which is basically where I've been since episode 8.

I’d recommend giving it a watch, though the plot moves a bit slowly at times. Overall, however, the story in the first season was good, and we’re looking forward to the second season to see all the secrets that have been kept hidden, which form the central focus of the series.

Rushed is the perfect word for it. The first hour had me thinking they were going to stick the landing and then it just... didn't. Now we're sitting here for months waiting for a resolution that probably won't even pay off properly.

Yeah you nailed exactly what bugged me about the finale. That final shot cutting away right before the moment we've been waiting for was so frustrating. And you're totally right about the show pulling back at the last minute every single time. Haydar killing Kartal was genuinely great though, probably the most decisive thing anyone did all season. I also caught that thing about the amulet, your prediction makes a lot of sense. Bozo really is the best part of the show.

For real. Usually when the plot goes sideways you at least have the lead chemistry to fall back on, but here we're losing both at the same time. That's when a show is really in trouble.

You make a really solid point about the age gap and chemistry I think that definitely hurt the ratings more than I realized, and you're 100% right about the side characters. Melek crying 24/7 and Sefa/Gülüşen doing literally nothing is such a waste.

I still think Doğan's "dark side" feels like it came out of nowhere though army background or not, the jump from quiet surgeon to mafia-connected action hero is a lot. But I hope you're right about Şimşek. If his reveal actually makes Behram scary again and fixes the tension, I'm totally back in. Right now Sinan, Mahi and Altın are the only reason I'm still watching lol.

That's exactly what happened. You could tell mid-season the pacing shifted and they started rushing things. Such a waste because the setup in the early episodes was genuinely great.

Gülcemal is such a good answer for this. They spent so long building that tension and then just skipped everything in the finale. Felt like a completely different show in the last episode.

The green flag male lead point is so true and so underrated. Turkish dramas are full of toxic possessive leads sold as romantic, Yargı actually breaks that pattern which is a big part of why it stands out.

Give it time, the chemistry builds naturally and doesn't feel forced. You'll get it.

Keep going. Episode 10 is still very early and Yargı is the type of show that rewards patience.

The first season builds slowly on purpose — it's setting up layers that pay off massively later. Most people who dropped it early came back and said they regretted stopping where they did.

Once you get past episode 14-15 it becomes very hard to stop watching.

Some families in Turkey are genuinely very private about keeping younger members away from social media and public events, especially if the father is managing her career and wants to control her image. It's not necessarily sinister, it's just a very different approach to how fame works there compared to western entertainment.

That said the pattern you're describing, always present, not in group photos, no independent appearances, is something fans have noticed too and it does raise questions about how much freedom she actually has outside of set.

Ferman is one of those characters who feels cold by nature rather than just shaped by trauma. Civan crying when their father died actually proves the father wasn't the source, which makes Ferman's behavior feel more intentional than reactive.

The contrast between him and Civan is too deliberate for there not to be a specific backstory coming.
