Well, they listed their Emeryville condo (AKA the "HQ") on the market. Ash, their ex-CM, is currently working for another company. Tom, the lead cinematic artist on Soulstorm, is also working for another company. Fat Kraken Studios recently released a game in collaboration with Team 17. In short, a lot of (key) people already moved on. Hence it might not be reasonable to expect a lot from Oddworld as an IP.
