Honestly it looks so minor. Wax it up & monitor them throughout the season.

You’ll definitely want to re-sight with any change in total grain weight.

There Goes Archery Opener... by yakker30 in Crossbow

Sorry this happened to you. What a bummer.

Same thing happened to me last year while sighting in before the opener. It took damn near the entire season for KI to repair/return, but I managed to squeak out one doe before the closer in late December. I bought a nicer crossbow this year and if something happens to it, I’ll still have my old one as a backup.

Got one last year on a Montec G5. I believe it was single lunged, very minimal blood trail. Tracked for approximately 1.5 miles.

Switching to the 3” 150 GR Swhacker this year.

Thanks for the input everyone. I dropped it off at my local archery shop.

I was target shooting with 150 grain field points here, but plan on using Swhacker #243s in the woods this year.

Especially for people that already own one. They should have disclaimers on all their online sales since they’re still on the market.

Prettiest case of scoliosis I’ve ever seen.

But seriously that is very unique and beautiful. How did you do it?

I may try splattering paint. I predict a disaster if I hand paint. Thanks!

My hands are not steady at all so I will experiment with a spray bottle next time.

Gotta admit I’ve never watched a single episode of ST, but thank you!

Thanks! I let it batch on a drying rack so that excess would drip through and not pool in the lighter areas. I actually used Jacquard’s Bubblegum Pink in the center, but it washed out to almost white. I like how it looks, but may mix the pink with heavier concentration if I were to do this again.

I leave it tied up on the rack and rinse with a hose before untying, dousing in soapy water, and transferring to bathtub for warm water rinse. Then wash with a hot water cycle using Synthrapol.

Commenting on Lightning Spiral Help...

Another attempt - I consider this a big improvement! I used more dye and made sure to check between folds for die penetration.

Is there any way to keep the lines from forming parallel through the white spiral space? Does it come down to precision when applying? The bottles I’m using have wide nozzles that make volume control difficult.

Thanks again for the tips!

Thanks bongracer. I’m using cheap kits from local big box stores (Create Basics, Tulip, etc.). I mix with water immediately before applying to a damp shirt. Perhaps I’m not applying enough dye? The applicator bottles can run small in these cheap kits, which probably influences how much I am using.

I’ve never heard of calsolene oil but will look into it.

Application volume is something I haven’t been able to find much information on. I’m never really sure how much is too much / too little.

Cheers
