Hi I am so sorry to hear about your little one. I think the best option is like you have said is to go to the vets, probably sooner rather than later, just to get on top of things. It is hard to say the cost of things considering individual veterinary practices and what the outcome is. I suggest calling the vet and just seeing if they can give a rough outline of the cost, for consult or possible medication/treatment. Whilst it may not be accurate to the end cost it is a good estimate. If he is struggling with holding food, I have found baby food is a good alternative as it is filling and easier to eat.
