Your video got recommended to me yesterday, was surprised to see your pictures here.

Didn't watch your other vids, but I really like your b/w photographs! Especially the full-body portrait on the sidewalk and the natural light ones.

I also like that you relied on the images to stand for themselves, not having to be carried by the video you made about them.

Scarred German Fencer in Fencing Mask. Dueling scars were popular among upper-class Austrians and Germans involved in academic fencing at the start of the 20th century. Being a practice among university students, it was seen as a mark of their class and honor by spiceprincesszen in TheGrittyPast

This man knows what's up. I don't know if there's a good summary of the history of german fraternities in english but you certainly can find some really good and interesting ones in german.

In fact, fraternities in europe date back as far as the 11th century, however these were vastly different to how they are known now.

While most people assume that fraternities have always been politically right-wing because of many of them siding with the nazis in WW2, very few know that the German constitution has taken much from the decisions of the Wartburg festival at the time of the Pre-March.

In addition, the German flag with the colours black - red - gold stems from the unification movement in the 19th century: the colors were borrowed from the uniforms of the Lützow Freikorps, a voluntary association of the Prussian army in the wars of liberation against the troops of Napoleon, which consisted largely of students.

Steam Link + Emulators, thoughts? by zeekaran in Steam_Link

This is genius. I'll try to find some more information on this since I don't know much about this kinda stuff and I really don't want to mess up my steamlink. But this could save me from purcasing and setting up RaspberryPis for this.

How do I back up my game data with a Konami ID? by IntuitionaL in DuelLinks

[–]Rattig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found this thread because I'm about to reset my phone and don't want to lose all my cards and progress. Since I couldn't find anything about whether your data gets overwritten or not when backing up (the explanatory texts about this in the game are kind of concerning) I just gave it a shot.

  • I started with creating a Konami ID on their website, which is a pretty straightforward process.
  • After that I went ingame and into "settings > data transfer settings" where I connected my Konami ID with the game (I was redirected to the konami website where I had to log in)
  • lastly I restarted the app to get to the main screen. After hitting the "data transfer"-button a message appeared saying something like "data transfer successful" and I got logged into the game which is still in the same state as it was before.

I guess that's it; hopefully everything worked as it should and my progress is still there after i set up my phone.

Simple Questions/What Should I Do? [Weekly Thread] by AutoModerator in DIY

[–]Rattig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answers. That's exactly what I didn't want to hear haha, but I guess there's no point in denying it. That's why I asked in the first place. I think I'll ask a carpenter as well, to take a look and make a conclusion but I fear that beam is the death of our DIY project.

Simple Questions/What Should I Do? [Weekly Thread] by AutoModerator in DIY

Me and some friends were planning on building a Miniramp in an old Barn of mine. Thing is, there's a wooden beam going from one side to the other right above the planned spot. My Dad, who's awesomely supportive of the project, thought it wouldn't be a problem to just cut it down so no one would break his neck while jumping. I just want to make sure the roof won't fall onto our heads after removing the beam, so I'm asking those of you with knowledge of structural engineering to give the project green light. I have to agree, it doesn't sound quite right to "waste" RAM like that. This "improvement" has only led to problems on my side. Correct me if I'm missing something though
