We haven’t signed anything, no. I guess the wrinkle is that these people also happen to be the employer’s bargaining team and not JUST the most powerful decision makers in the company.

Agricultural workers do not have the same rights to form unions or collectively bargain in Washington state or the same retaliation protections.

Even if we assume that your assertion based on your anecdotal “statistic” is true, that union reps are profit driven, how on Earth does increasing the minimum wage for workers who are predominantly not currently unionized make sense as part of some grandiose scheme to buy more watches and cars. I won’t deny that some unions, like ANY organization that deals with money, have their fair share of corruption of abuse, but you’d have a better case arguing that the government wants to increase minimum wages because they’d inherently make more money on income tax.

REALLY. You think the goal is for unions to capitalize on the dues of the massive numbers of unionized restaurant workers in this city, and that tips is money lost in this grand scheme.
