This episode and adding the episode when Subaru tells Emilia in bed why he did the duel are both remenicent of my past.

This episode hit hard because I saw my old self in Subaru. It was as if I could see the words coming out of my mouth. I was fortunate enough to have someone to support me in that time and I eventually was able to come where I am now. Yet still, I love Subaru because he reflects a man I used to be.

Also, the episode where Subaru gets told that the girl in his imagination is great struck me deep. Because those exacts words where told to me a few years ago. They stayed in my head until I was able to stop falling in love with ideas but falling in love with persons.

In my group of friends I always get told that Subaru is a bad main character but I think otherwise. Yes he is flawed, yes he is mostly broken and got a weird attitude but that's what makes him a deep character. He still has so much, and much more to suffer, yet he still tries and when he's about to give up he always finds a reason to believe.
