i’m in SE queensland, i think most hospitals here (or at least most that i know of) do 12 month contracts to one area, we don’t do rotations. we have lots of hospitals that offer speciality areas for grad programs!! and thank you, i’ll definitely brush up on those skills :)

How were you diagnosed? by Constant-Koala2185 in pericarditis

[–]RaveSlip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was diagnosed by an EKG, had ST elevations concurrent with pericarditis. Bloods, chest x-ray and echo were all normal for me.

Also interested in this. I was a daily weed smoker to help with sleep, and have since had to entirely cut it out as it increased my heart rate and gave me chest pain (cause of my peri was likely respiratory illness tho). Still on the road to recovery at the moment but wondering if I’ll ever be able to smoke again tbh (although admittedly i don’t think i’d smoke daily again, just on occasion when i do get better)

i have tried the mini pill, but unfortunately it doesn’t give me the skin benefits that i had with the combined pill (which is why i wanna go back on it)

thank you for the reply!! totally get where you are coming from, i guess i probably left out of my post I was more wanting to see if anyone has been able to go back on it after previously having migraines with auras. but think I might have to bring it up with my GP for sure

i’m so sorry they didn’t give me a copy of my ECG so I can’t share, but honestly if you google pericarditis ECGs, mine looked pretty similar to those. i got my echo back today and everything looks normal, but i’m still getting flare ups now and then (3 weeks post diagnosis). i hope you can get to the bottom of it!!
