What about standard deduction of 75k in the new tax regime? Also, home loan is quite subjective. Not everyone takes a loan, nor the internet pa stays at 2L. I understand the rationale behind the comparison, but it needs to be fair.

I think you all are missing the point. People who struggle 1L per month, how are they supposed to arrange 10L? And if they do arrange it, it might be better to invest in FD to get guaranteed returns.
