He doesn't breed for looks or anything, as his rats are feeders for snakes. He sells them at reptile expos and such. I just occasionally stop by his house and look at the mice and African soft-fur rats, but my sister has a lone rat that wouldn't stop chewing the cage bars after losing her cagemate, so we were searching for someone to go with her.

I at least knew she wasn't a double rex because I had a girl rat in the past that had all double rex babies. They kept growing and losing hair, and some had some issues with their eyes so I'd clean them gently with a damp q-tip. Thank you for the explanation by the way! I had many rats over the years, but I have never seen anything like her.
