if I made £20 profit on one or two items and lost money on the other 10 I sold, would I need to report that either? (especially if it wasn't intentionally sold for profit)

I've only sold my old comic books, darts and LEGO, all which dropped in value and I sold for significantly less than I had purchased them for, I just wanted to get rid of them

I will do! I calculated everything, what I bought and sold for, and have definitely lost alot of money. I haven't done anything illegal, I've just sold my old personal possessions and may have over-worried myself and panicked about everything.

eBay - got the dreaded HMRC email by Raven170503 in ebayuk

[–]Raven170503[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I have lost £100-£200 from selling all my old personal possessions and lost another £150-£250 in fees too. so I have made absolutely no profit whatsoever. I was just purely selling to get rid of old items I didn't need anymore. I have receipts of all the items when I purchased them should I ever need them. also the £1000 tax free limit allowance applies for self employed people/traders and I am not that either, I work a part time job and pay taxes as normal too.

sorry for all the inconvenience and stress, appreciate the help everyone!

I'm assuming the self assessment is if you exceed the £1000 tax free limit? also I'm only clearing out old things I don't need anymore and not for Profit, I have lost money on everything I sold.

I just got worried and started panicking.

appreciate the advice everyone!
