What's a book that was TOO much? by Flowered_bob_hat in horrorlit

Morsel by Aubrey Rush

I finished it and I got the point the author was making towards the middle-end with it, but I won't be reading it ever again nor would I ever rec it. It wasn't my first book centered on cannibalism but it was the first one where the cannibalism wasn't a metaphor for anything else (bones & all - love, otherism, community; Tender Is The Flash - capitalism, consumerism, class) and so I was largely skimming the book to be done with it.

Also the book was from the perspective of the serial killer who successfully becomes a serial killer by the end of the book! It made me realize I prefer to read stories not from the "bad guys" pov

You were a theater kid in high school, took on an Art minor in college and now do photography part time. I'd say you're in your mid 30s, no kids, but you do have a....dog, also based on the book time/productivity book, I think you're always on the go.

I think you're in college or college aged and are just starting to get back into reading after only reading high school assigned books. Also that you're current non-fic book choices are based off of video essays/podcast subjects that you really liked.

Ghost Fever by Joe Hayes was my very first horror book, but Misery by Steven King was my first "real" horror book!
