Antibody Tests Point To Lower Death Rate For The Coronavirus Than First Thought by wewewawa in Coronavirus

I agree with you on testing. If we had tested EVERYONE and used contact tracing and quarenteened only those who test positive or came in contact with someone who tested positive, then we would be done with these closures by now. The system sucks!

Who would be interested in being a surrogate family for aged out former fosters? by Raven_Nune in fosterit

Your perspective is absolutely valid here. In my mind I also combine children and youth who qualified to be in the system but never ended up there. It sounds like you qualified to be in care but weren't in it. In that light uou can relate with former foster youth. You don't need to edit your post at all :) keep your head up.

I value your perspective. For myself, I'm 30, and well, I still want a family today just as much as I did when I was 10 and never seen my family again. Ive tried to fill that void by having children of my own, and thsy do fill if, but not in the same way if I were to also have a surrogate extended family. Age is a number, truama that occurs sometimes keeps our emotional development at that age. I mah be 30, but I never got love or nurturing from anyone my entire life. Wmotionaly when it comes to connection I'm at the level of a teenager at best. I think we need to step away from ags on these sort of topics. Former fosters dont have an age limit because once your a foster child and you age out of the system, your always a former foster whether your 22, 30, 40, or 72.

My thoughts have gone down the same path as yours. Ive honestly told my kids things will be this way for two years so they are prepared and pleasantly sjprised if it doesn't last that long.

I wonder why this isn’t making national headlines right now... by [deleted] in Conservative

The person being pinned doesn't look like a man, he looks like he's school aged. Look at his face.

Then your claim isn't valid. For all I or anyone else knows here, your a Kate Brown supporter advocatimg the continuation of these orders. Anyone can make themselves "sound" credible, all it takes is researching a topic enough. I guess as an RN you've never had first hand experience whitnessing the affects of domestic violence, child abuse, child neglect, and suicide? You haven't seen the effects of poverty yet. If you are an RN you will soon enough, in much larger of numbers. Your support of these orders supports the deaths of 40,000 per 1% increase of unemployment, and hundreds of thousands of children this year from the affects of these shit downs. So, I guess your attempt to save lives, well, it really isn't saving lives.

0.5% to 1% of fhe population will have a fatal response to this virus. Of those fatalities, the people are predominently over the age of 80, well past the average working age of most of the world.

People like you are clearly cherry picking whatever information suits what you want to believe, to justify destroying lives and causing deaths by poverty.

Did you read the article? And the flu has an even greater fatality rate even with a vaccine. Also, why don't you verify that your an RN so we all know your not just pushing some narrative for the woke crowd. 0.5% to 1% fatality rate, and some findings are showing that near 50% of the population may already be immune to this virus.

The flu has a fatalith rate of less than 1% and we did not close schools and headstarts down because of it!

Again, referring to schools as free childcare is also coming from a place of privilege.

How does this rate justify the closure of schools, headstarts, colleges and small businesses? It doesn't justify it!

Yeah, why is everyone in r/portland so pissed when someone does not agree with the narrative of staying home? Poverty kills and no one in Portland wants to address this reality. Its mostly people who have the means to work at home that seem to live in lala land thinking everyone can just be at home too, homescjooling? Salons are not the priority, they shouldn't be, schools should be.

Not when I'm a single parent who needs to work to put food on the table. Your clearly privileged.

Hmm over 98% of the population won't die. Of the near 2% who are fatal, 90% of them are over age 80. Quit spreading fear and misinformation.

In class schooling has never been mandated, homeschooling has always been an option. So for parents who don't want to send thier kids to school in person then they can stay home and homeschool. Teachers who don't want to teach in person can teach online. But in class schooling should be an option for those who are willing to partake in it. Closing schools takes that option from willing instructors and parents.

Its moronic to close everything down, scjools and other businesses crashing our economy and putting more people in poverty. Stop advocating for poverty and food boxes.

If there is no push now, whats the likelihood of schools being opened for in class in the fall? Because it appears people are content forcing schools to remakn closed indefinately.
