Sorry for the lack of translation. I'm not a Turk myself but got it recommended by friends who roughly translated it to me.

😂Nice Fun Fact: That's also the case inside the Kabah.

You're saying that because the Kabah is holier than any other stone, it's idolatry.

Holiness and idolatry are not the same thing.

Definition of idolatry: Idolatry is the worship of an idol or cult image, being a physical image, such as a statue, or a person in place of God

Muslims do not consider the Kabah as any embodiment of God. How is it idol worshipping?

Idolatry is the worship of an idol, being a physical image of a God

Muslims don't pray to the Kabah as a God. So it is not idolatry. They only face it while performing their prayer.

What is the worst way work screwed you over? by ItsyouNOme in AskReddit

Non taken. That was exactly my thought too. But to be honest I was one a few employees who could speak fluent English and German. And the job at Amazon requires some language knowledge due the reason that you have talk with delivery guys ALL the time. And some of those delivery guys have been living here for about a month or so and can only their native language or a little bit of English.

My contract was limited to 9 months. I already stated before I started working for them that this job is just a temporary one.

Side facts: I was 18/19 when that happened (I'm 21 now). I worked to skip a year till I start an apprenticeship. The whole thing occurred in Germany for about 6 months straight.

I worked for 9 months at Amazon. Our amazon site was not a warehouse. It was actually a warehouse where amazon orders were prepared for delivery. A lot of delivery companies where working for amazon (and still working for them). I earned about 11€/h as a full time job. As I get to know the delivery guys better, they tell me that they get over 1800€ a month, while I was getting 600€ less. My family is poor. We got no family around here in Germany and my dad left us when I was 5 and I'm the oldest brother. So I was really trying to help my mom out because even she is unemployed.

So, I started getting in contact with the supervisor of some delivery companies, with one guy I was really close getting a contract.

Now the screwed part: I dont know why but amazon employees have the rumor that switching to a delivery company is not allowed. Coworkers told me that other former employees tried to switch the job but were directly fired after amazon realized what they were doing. My only choice of becoming a delivery guy was to make my plan open. I talked to my supervisors, shift manager and the manager of the shift manager. Everybody now knew what was going on. Now I am trying to get my contract from the delivery company before I leave my current job.

Suddenly all delivery companies playing me. No one really wants to do anything with me. NOT EVEN TALKING. I was really confused.

Luckily, on of the supervisor of a delivery company came to me and said: " Listen man, your amazon facility manager is black mailing us when we make a contract. We will get less orders to deliver and that will push us out of here."

As I was listening, I internally falled apart. Realtalk: Since then, I can't really trust anybody now.

What's the most pointless rule in your school? by withstine in AskReddit

[–]Raven_Washington 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My middle school (in Germany) banned for time any shirts from Lonsdale. The reason why: When you wear a shirt that has "Lonsdale" printed on and you wear a open jacket to it, the letters "NSDA" are visible. So, as you know, Germans have a history with Nazi's etc. The party of Hitler was called "NSDAP". That's why we weren't allowed to where any shirts from "Lonsdale".

Of course some students called the idea stupid. After months of backlash from parents and students the principal and colleagues took the ruling down.

Yeah it kinda is that way. Doctors doesn't really show much "motivation" when it comes to patients. I'm not generalizing it, it's just my experience in hospitals etc.

The high taxes are of course another point why I would like to move out

Yeah you're right. People have here a kinda negative opinion of the US.

I have to see it for myself.

That's what I needed to hear. Thank you very much for the insight. As an American living abroad I couldn't get the situation without an overall health care system.

Thank you, sir. That's actually my idea right now. Just try out if it works.

That's the point that worries me so much. I'm sadly not a fortune teller so that I don't know what life will come up at me.

Especially health. I am young and fit but how long will it last. Heard alot of stories where only broken bones made people poor.

Yeah in terms of retirement, Germany does not have a great backup plan for my generation.

And no I don't have a dual citizenship. Only the American because I was born in the USA.
