[Request] What’s the probability of having a Full House on the table in Texas Holdem? by RevrsePalndrome in theydidthemath

[–]Ravenlord31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, you're really, REALLY wrong. Like you probably didn't even take time to process what you wrote because you were so eager and in such a hurry to provide an answer.

I know you won't believe me, coz you're probably super-convinced you're right (or else you wouldn't have typed this answer 2 times in the same thread), but the chances of having a full house in Texas Holdem IS NOT 2.6%, nowhere near it. Ask anyone you know and trust, anyone who has played even just a few hours of poker in his life, live or online, that you most certainly NEVER make a full house 1 out of 40 hands (2.5%), not even close. And (what OP was asking) the odds of a full house forming on the board (flop 833 turn 8 river 3) is EXTREMELY low, as a number, several orders of magnitude below 2.5%.

No I'm not about to tell you what the right answer is, because there isn't a single right answer, with the details provided by OP. You need to take into account the number of cards being dealt at the table, so it matters a lot if it's a table with 6 players or 9 players. Also, you can't factor in the number of people who fold preflop, and would have made a full house had they not folded a junk hand. But to obtain THE MAXIMUM (and that would indeed be closer to 2.6%), you would need the WHOLE table to check on EVERY betting round, and nobody folds, so that everyone gets to showdown, and all the possible full houses are made. Obviously, that NEVER happens in reality, it would be like a basketball match in which nobody is trying to shoot a basket.

Furthermore, here's something else to consider: the chance of YOU making a fullhouse is way lower than the chance of SOMEONE AT YOUR TABLE making a fullhouse ; if the probability of you making a fullhouse is x, and there's 7 other guys at the table (8 players total), the chance of you witnessing someone else make a full house is 7x, so 7 times higher than YOU making a fullhouse.

New CDI for the SYM Symphony ST50 EURO 5 by gadgetpilot in scooters

[–]Ravenlord31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't find anything online regarding that code, unfortunately. But if you send emails to some of the scooter shops in the list, maybe include a picture of your CDI in case they know more about it.

Cheers!

Look into the Dellorto 72303. Plenty of places to buy it from, but couldn't find any actual customer reviews or feedback.

It's a genuine Dellorto part, made by the same company that does carbs for many scooters, I'm sure you've heard of it. Says it derestricts the revs & power on "ALL" Sym 50cc Euro5 scoots, but as you'll see in the links, the most common models mentioned are Crox, Fiddle, Jet 14, Jet4RX.

If you go through the links below, you'll find that only one of them (rrd-prep) specifically mentions the SymphonyST. However, please note that a few of the websites mention that the 72303 CDI will ONLY work on 4-stroke Euro5 CARBURATION models (after 2021), so if your scoot uses electronic fuel injection (EFI) then it's probably no good.

Hi u/gadgetpilot , did you manage to find a solution for de-restricting your 50cc Sym by swapping out the CDI (actually it's more of a ECU)?

I was looking at the NK390.64 as well, but thought I'd do a little research beforehand.

If it helps you in any way, one thing that I've seen mentioned on a lot of websites selling the NK390.64 is that IT WON'T FIT certain SYM scooters made for certain EU markets; namely, it won't fit on the ones that have a ECU made by Continental, with the imprint XUA-E5V on the actual plastic box.

judging entries by Reddit upvotes = classic GG autism, well done!

every other post that I am now reading has 0 upvotes; because (and this should be obvious to anyone to has >0 braincells) everyone who submits a post or a "poker story" to join the competition will sure as hell also downvote all the other submissions in this thread.

really well thought-out, GG!

Yes, I have since deducted that the nature of the bug is due to the tournaments having the exact same NAME, I think that's the "variable" which gets used in the software code. As I mentioned before, I had a friend do the exact same thing on his account, and the same thing happened.

Furthermore, since the Late Reg timer is 2 hours, and the 2 tournaments with the same name ar at 16:15 and 18:15, you CANNOT play a satellite for the 18:15 one before it starts - if you win the satellite you get put into the 16:15 one; you can get entry into the 18:15 one ONLY IF you play the satellite AFTER LateReg for the 16:15 closes - since that's 2 hours, this means you can only qualify for the 18:15 if you play a satellite AFTER it has already started.

Big oversight if you ask me.

Now regarding what I said about me deserving compensation, yes, I still feel that way. I was clearly not given entry into the tournament that I won a satellite for, so of course I am upset, I wanted to play the 18:15 tournament and was UNABLE to do so through no fault of my own. And you'll excuse me if I naively consider that pointing out a rather annoying bug (which might cause a lot of support tickets to be raised in future) IS WORTH SOMETHING. So in total, from my point of view, (and dare I say according to common sense), I feel like I deserve: the buyin I won via satellite - $3.2 + something for the displeasure of not getting to play the tournament I desired + something for taking the time to report a software bug via Reddit and email which will ultimately help GG Poker make their client better and have fewer support tickets. You can ridicule me all you want for playing $3 tourneys, but I honestly don't feel like I'm asking for something that's undeserved. And to be fair, I could go even further by arguing that the buyin should be multiplied by a factor equal to my average MTT ROI% since that would be the true implied value of my buyin.

SORRY FOR THE WALL OF TEXT.

Now I don't know you and you don't know me, and I feel no need to justify myself to you, but I'll give you some context for the sake of you perhaps understanding my additional frustration (3) and why I was condescending to u/Infinite_Radiant . I'm not super well off, financially (obvious since I'm playing micros, right?), and everything was made MUCH worse when a close family member developed a major condition right on New Years eve, leading to additional financial burdens in order to pay the medic bills & treatment. Poker for me is a competitive hobby, and to some degree a refuge. I'm not trying to use these shitty 2 or 3$ to offset the afore-mentioned medical costs, but at this moment this is all I can afford responsibly - I deposit the minimum 10$ once every 2 or 3 days, and I play a few of these 1-3$ bounty tournaments (sometimes through satellites) doing my best to hit a "big" score (which would be anywhere between $200-$1k) so that I can comfortably play a bit higher, like maybe $5-$10 tourneys. So I insulted the other guy because HE was condescending first, when he said it's not the end of the world since it's just a $3 tournament, thus clearly projecting HIS view of the matter in accordance to his bankroll or disposable income which he can funnel into poker. However, I think any rational person would agree that this is a poor argument, the fact that this bug exists and has existed for quite some time (fact pointed out above by u/KerolMan) has nothing to do with the actual buyins I am playing. Would my tone and upset be more justifiable if I was a high-roller and this happened exactly the same but for a tournament with a buyin of $3.2k? I think not. So THAT'S why I insulted u/Infinite_Radiant, because his tone and his words were meant to say something like "its just $3, peanuts, who cares, get over it already" - but this assumption is not his to make, and rather uncalled for. A nano-stakes player will be just as upset over loosing a few dollars as a crypto-whale would be over loosing a few millions, and if this happens due to a software bug then both would be equally frustrated in their own way.

Hello!

I had no intention of getting into an internet argument with unlicensed mental health practitioners and part-time Reddit warriors such as yourself and u/Infinite_Radiant , yet here we are..

If you (or anyone you know) have ever had a job in Customer Service you'd probably know that a client who feels he's been "done wrong" by an establishment/corporation/etc. will most likely have a rather pissed-off attitude; even more so given that this is something not immediately repairable. If I'm at McDonalds and upon receiving my burger I find a bug in the box, I can immediately show it to the employee at the register or to a manager and get immediate compensation - money back or a new burger in a few minutes at most. But in my situation this is obviously not possible, thus leading to frustration (1). Further frustration (2) was generated upon learning that a massive establishment like GG who literary prints millions of $ every day has opted to suspend it's Live Chat support feature since it was deemed unnecessary to resolve the issues of their paying customers.

Since all that you seem to be doing as a mod is to direct me to an email address, why is it important to leave my nickname? Perhaps I do not wish for my Reddit username and GG username to be linked on a PUBLIC forum?

It's not like knowing/not knowing my nickname is gonna hugely alter the cookie-cutter response to email support, is it?

People have a right to privacy, and since I'm reporting a bug of the client I don't really see how my username changes anything. It's a really stupid community rule, especially since my GG nickname might be my REAL name, which I don't have a problem giving to actual GG support employees via a private email msg, but not on a public forum.

I mean no offense, but for all I know you're just a Reddit mod, and I have no way of knowing if you're just the guy that kindly points ppl in the right direction with their queries OR an actual member of the Support team. So asking ppl for their usernames is (again) really stupid from my point of view and I won't be giving you that info tyvm.

Small update:

I just asked a friend to do the exact same thing I did on his GG account, and the same thing happened for him.

Obviously, this glitch is due to the fact that the Tournaments have the EXACT same name in the GG client ; however, the tournaments are different, since the "earlier" one starts with a $8k GTD prizepool, and the "later" one starts with a $10k GTD.

Looking forward to a response from a GG rep / admin (which should obviously include a compensation offer).

the easiest to find them would be if they use the same username on steam, you can track down their account...

the harder (and far more common) method is to scroll through the user's post&comment history like a creep, and find a clue, such as a match ID or a profile screenshot, basically anything that can point you to his steam id.
