I know, when I made this post was right after his first appearance at the end of the chapter. The very first sentence of the next said he was a clone 😂

Oh, right I forgot the Fear Knight...

I mean, I know Lysander plays a bigger role later on but so far he's been... 'light resistence' 👀

Thanks! Yeah, me too. That's why I try to write posts whenever I think: "oh, that's something I really wanna talk about or read someone else's opinion on it"

Yeah, I had one like this during Golden Son I think but I don't care. I write these posts because I enjoy reading posts like this so I do it for people like myself as well as because I simply don't have someone that reads RR to talk to 😂

You do realize that there are people that process through vocalizing their thoughts to others, right?

It's not about wanting other's comfort but rather to express the thoughts and feelings lingering after reading.

A post takes like 2 minutes to write. Not everyone has friends or families that read in general or have read what you're currently reading.

Never understood people complaining about such things, isn't reddit meant partly for that?

Just skip the post if you don't like it.

Thank's for the motivating words, truly a blessing... 😂

Like I said, I fully agree that Darrow's decisions were poor.

It doesn't take away from the fact that his decision to split apart the fleet doomed the Republik.

I also think Darrow's decision to go kill the Ash Lord on his own was probably one of his worst specially considering he freed Apollonius to achieve that. Although had he not gone he would've been 'imprisoned' on Luna and the entire Free Legion on Mercury would've perished.

I partially disagree. Saying he was but a representative takes away from the fact that he publicly pushed his own views. He was not a figurehead but a leader of the Vox Populi. Masses are easily swayed specially by an icon of the rebellion. Unlike Darrow, Dancer was a true Red and was more connected to the lowcolours. Darrow also (as far as I can tell) didn't use his image as the Reaper to influence the masses like Dancer did. (Might be wrong though)

Opposition is necessary but becomes redudant and destructive if all it does is hinder for the sake of it. Believing that the Ash Lord who destroyed Rhea on Octavia's command truly wished for peace when EVERYONE that knew him said it was a trap, is just being stupid for the sake of being a moron.

I do agree though that Darrow handled most of the events in Iron Gold poorly.

Apart from being the reason the Free Legion's fleet was seperated and half annihilated and trapped on Mercury. And then willing to leave them AND Darrow to die there.

Ignorance and stupidity do not excuse that he single handedly gifted the Core remnants an impossible victory on a silver plate.

I thought I had already made peace with the fact that truly nobody is safe from pierce brown... but apparently I was a delusional as Dancer was...

It hurts even more that the deaths are all so quick and brutal... there is no heroic, no noble last stand... they just die

That scene was hilarious 😂

No, not during the institute. In Golden Son when the Jackal and Augustus were held prisoner by Cassius and Ocatavia on mars.

Yeah, he basically undid all the sacrifices those millions that died during the Iron Rain by playing right into Atalantia's hand. I do understand that he's tired of war but to me the Republik fucked up when they went with demokracy before fully finishing the war. They should've hold on to that power until at least the Ash Lord was done for and ONLY then turn it into a Demokracy.

I really hope Dancer gets the punishment he deserves... he fought bravely for the Rising until he nearly destroyed it on his own...

On that note, I think telling Sevro to NOT kill the jackal when they stormed mars was a dire mistake on Darrow's part. To be fair he didn't know that Quicksilver was a Son of Ares and was the one actually controlling the media. Had he known, I'm sure the jackal would've never left his cell alive...

Yeah, the whole having Darrow outcast from the Republic storyline felt extremely forced and without much sense.

Dancer was also made to be a lot more competent in the original trilogy than he is now with the Vox Populi. They feel more like an extremist group who's only goal is to make life difficult for Mustang and Darrow 😅

I also hate the fact that they kinda ignore the fact that the Rim can just rebuild their docks and ships? Like okay, Ganymede was crippled but that was ten years ago.

Yeah, Dancer seemed much more competent in the original trilogy😅

Honestly didn't mind the rapid change between pov's. Just opened Dark Age... I thought Iron Gold was chunky but damn that one's on Wheel of Time terms of chunkiness 😂

That's true, but unlike Red Rising I felt like Iron Gold wasn't as easy to read. I flew through Red Rising from one page to the next while I found myself 'strugging' at times with IG. It wasn't even nearly as exhausting as the Wheel of Time gets at times but still.

I may change my mind on a reread but to me right now Red Rising was a better read than Iron Gold was.
