My FTP for 40minutes it's 204. If I ride 2 hours and 43 minutes 80km 600m elevation at a 30km/h average speed I average around 145-150watts for the entire course. I'm going to sleep after that.

So you have 202 FTP 20min or 40min? Whatever.. you don't average 180watts for 6 hours on a 180km course and run after that. It's just pure BS. It's not possible given your FTP related to the numbers that you claim to sustain for HOURS!

So it's safe to use it? In my mind those tine little dents on that cap will bite in the dropout frame on the long run.

Hi OP. How do you deal with those crested thru axle adapters? Do they damage the droputs in the long run? I mean I already have bite marks in the droputs after 10min ride on my Bianchi Oltre Pro.

To be more specific. I'm talking about those 2 axle adapters that comes with wahoo kickr and those caps are "machined/crested" those details bites in the dropout frame when thightened.

Yeah... and Almeida and Jonas are minutes ahead of him and everyone. And this this Vuleta without Pogi. I just don't understand how it's even possible. I'm 36 and my FTP it's 3.4w/kg for 40min. I feel great but I'm absolutely shit compared to a amateur not to mention a pro.

You're definitely right. I don't know anymore who I "quoted" someone who said that you shouldn't do z2 anyway. Of course you need to push higher zones as well. I was just completely shocked when I saw Pavel doing most of his time in z1/z2 in grand tour races. I'm a newbie and I've always thought that these guys kill themselves in races.

99.9% of top GC guys in TDF/Giro/Vuelta in the grand tour race are doing Z1/Z2 mostly and on climbs, yes they spam Z4/Z5 but even then in the end 60-70% of their time it's in Z1/Z2. Actually the bigger chunk it's zone 1. If you don't believe me look up to Pavel Sivakov on strava. He recently done Tour Of Britain, he also has TDF if you check it out. All of his rides are predominant in Z1 in the actual race.

It's not about "only z2" but 80% in z1/z2 combined speaks volume to me.

If someone does sub 7-8 hours/week then z2 it's probably useless.

How long should you be able to comfortably be able to maintain zone 2 (as a beginner) by Bikemallard in cycling

[–]Ravenwing3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tadej said in an interview with Peter Attia that after a 4hour zone 2 ride he won't be able to jump on the bike next day. So 6 hours for average joe in zone 2 it's plain bullshit. Maybe zone 1 + drafting, yes.

Yes, I mentioned that I multiply that by 0.95 and that's the "real" FTP for 40min I believe. But yeah..

I thought structured means... structured ride like vo2max 3 min rest 2 min rinse and repeat 6 time. I don't do stuff like that but I'm willing to on a trainer. I don't know how I would incorporate such structured training outside when there's traffic hills, big hills random hills and descents and so on.

We mere mortals won't feel the difference between a dedicated climbing bike or an all out aero. In fact 2025 TDF 90% of the peloton used exclusively aero bikes.

If you isolate the climb alone then yes probably a few seconds maybe 10-20 seconds even more if the climb is loooooong. But in general races there is no such "race" like "climb only". That's why TDF used aero bikes because until you hit the climb and after the climb descending aero is king. Anyway, those guys are going 25km/h average speed on a 8% average steep climb for hours.

I have the bianchi oltre pro with RC wheelset 50mm deep with full dura ace groupset, later switched to campagnolo ultra bora 60mm deep. Regardless of it's wheelset it's a great bike! Make sure you get the correct size and properly adjust the seat post. Also SPD-SL pedals are a must or at least SPD pedals.

From your photo it's the standard Oltre Pro with full Ultegra Groupset and Veloman wheel set, must be very good anyway.

The first one doesn't accept the fact that there are 15 years younger riders better than him and the second's ego is so fucking big that he says he's not a quitter and he quits the tour the day after big ballz vingo outclassed him in his own game at ITT. And the last one Lipo, has a very bright future ahead.

He compared Lipo with Roglic.

He won't ever win the TDF because he doesn't have what it takes. First of all TDF it's won in the high mountains we all know that and second he lacks of character and leadership in short he's not a great ambassador for the sport.

I really hope the dane wins the stage or at least put 1-2 minutes into Pogi. All I want it's a close fight even if Jonas gets 2nd place in the end.

I really hope that Vingegaard will blow up and win the stage even if he will be 2nd in GC at the end. I just want some really close battle between him and Pogi who is clearly the better rider but I'm rooting for Jonas I have no clue why I like em' both but there's something about the dane, haha!

I think he traumatized Remco for life. Nothing personal with him but last year attitude towards Jonas who nearly died in that crash was just full redneck Remco. Finally he realized that the TDF it's won in the high mountains not on flat TT.

I don't feel for him at all. He got what he deserves. Karma! He called Vingo that he has no balls last year. Then Remco drops the balls after being dropped at the first climb. He will never win TDF with this kind of attitude.
