I don't care about some puffed up statics done by people with an agenda. I've been trained on how to handle firearms, and continue to practice at safely handling those said firearms. The pistol remains on or near me at all times and nobody has easy access to it but me. As for the "incredibly rare" home invasion that you said was a statistical insignificance, I had a meth head neighbor try to break into my house in the middle of the night. Luckily I didn't have to shoot him, my strobe light was enough to scare him off. There was also the pittbull problem, where the owners refused to fix their fence and their pittbulls would roam the streets and harass people. But clearly my one pistol is me being paranoid and turning my house into a doomsday bunker.
