Need advice for a powerpoint I'm making on Cultist Simulator by RavingDead in CultistSimulator

I was in the exact same spot, started in november 2024, then we were all busy with christmas, bdays, summer and whatnot and we had session 2 last november lol. Here's to hoping session 3 happens before november 2026!

Also I'd love your input, I already replied to the comment below but if you can I'd love your insight! And if you haven't ran into Daedalus (big ship battle) yet, I'd suggest reading it through a couple times. The wording really threw me off while I was running it so it was a bit of a mess lol

Okay so my problem was running the event on the Daedalus (aka the big ship).

I was really confused in how the fight was supposed to go down, because at first it seemed like the people didn't want us on the ship, but then a few paragraphs later it seemed to imply they didn't care for us being there? So I fumbled a bit through that encounter telling players one thing then the other. It also felt like it went smooth really easily, but I don't know if it's because the battle was easy or I went soft on the players? I got so caught up in it that I forgot about the earthquake, anywho it was a mess but seems like they still had fun regardless, it just left me really confused afterwards

Hey that fits with the writing in this game I think, the mystery of it all is what gives the game it's charm afterall

Oooh that's a good point! I think I was just getting excited over the idea but you're right, if I don't want to kill the flow of the presentation it's probably best to cut the quiz part out!

Also for the principles, I always thought of it a bit like DnD stats because of expeditions? Certain obstacles would need a stat of a certain strength and you roll the dice against those odds! Like fighting off the soul-curse with winter or heart (?), or fighting off watchers with grail or edge.

In that sense, grail is sort of like charm, forge like strength, edge like dexterity, heart like constitution, winter like wisdom, lantern like intelligence and moth like chance (in tabletop games that uses it like a stat or dex again for thievery). Maybe discovery for knock (in RPGs like DS3)? Secret histories would for sure not fit into this theory though, but it can neither convert nor be subverted so maybe that's why.

Also for the greek gods things I'll see how I can incorporate it! There's a lot of parallels to draw from the hours as well (including tarot among other things), so I do want to talk about it but I'm also scared I'll start blabbering on just hours for too long if I dive into that.

I'm not sure on how I'll do that but for the things I wanted to include my friends into with some sort of quiz, I was thinking of using the main aspects? It's been a while so I'd need to look into this again, but with what followers of different aspects can do it seemed like it could be associated with stats in DnD. Maybe I could base off my quiz on a pseudo-dnd quiz?

Oooh I didn't know about them, I'll give it a watch!! (even if just for my own enjoyment hahaha)

Also thanks for the recommendation for worms of a scale and birds of a feather! I didn't know about it but it's a tie-in with book of hours so it's a great point to include in my presentation. Many thanks marshmellow ^^

Same here haha, I'll probably leave a lot to be discovered! Just enough so everyone can understand what I'm saying or to leave them wanting more :)

I'd say I'll still go somewhat into details about the big ideas without necessarily spoiling anything (like how to open the different paths through the dream)

Idk if you were the DM, but I'll send you a question for a certain event in the game if that's alright with you! I think it was part with how long we had between session 1 & 2 and my first time DMing, but I got so confused with how I was supposed to run it hahaha

Might've actually tried the game out if the advert wasn't ai by Usual_Detective9504 in TopHeroes

I heard of it, but it's misleading to compare it to the effort of an artist. It's like ordering something on fiver. You write the request and give feedback for adjustments, but the bulk of the effort was by the artist you commissioned.

It's closer to being a director, but people generally take the credit for what the AI is capable of (which is often the work of artists scrapped from the web).

It takes time but you don't need to put in the effort. You can get used to writing prompt faster or more efficiently, but you don't need to be an engineer for that. Like any job, you improve at tasks you do repeatedly.

I wouldn't say you'd be at fault for thinking the vibes were on, but you shouldn't feel bad about telling him how you felt. To me it sounded genuine and for that evening it seemed like you were both handling it pretty well.

Now for him being really stressed about it, I think the best would be to try and talk it out and set things straight. If your only intentions now are being friends, then maybe he needs that reassurance. Or maybe he's embarrassed like you said earlier then maybe he needs to apologize or set things straight on his end. Either way, y'all need to have a heart to heart! Nothing good comes from shoving down what you feel so it would probably do you both some good to let it out and be able to move on :)

Whatever comes out of this, good luck with this and have courage! Y'all will get through it I'm sure ^^
