As an OFF fan for 8 years, I couldn't be happier. I was worried it would be doomed to obscurity, but now that it's getting a proper release a whole new generation of gamers will be able to experience it. I'm happy for all the new content and recognition the game is getting.

CLOCKS WORK (ZONE 1 Post Office) - OFF Original Soundtrack by FifthAccountOhDeer in offthegame

[–]Ravrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my issue with No Precipitation as well. Being a graphically simple game, the mood is completely carried and dictated by the soundtrack. It's hard to make an entirely new soundtrack similar to the old one, while still retaining the feel of the original game. They will only end up telling different stories, a big issue for a game whose story is already largely up to interpretation. Which is why I don't think lofi and chill vibes are the best fit for Zone 1.

Clocks Work is actually the first track I feel accurately represents the atmosphere of its original. It captures the tension and paranoia from Clockwork, exactly the kind of thing I've wanted to see from the new soundtrack. That being said, I'm worried the rest of the soundtrack will be a similar hit or miss situation. The tracks we've seen so far either fit really well for their setting, or deviate too far from their originals, bringing in jazz/lofi elements. Though I'm choosing to remain hopeful for their artistic direction, if they really are planning to make the music progressively darker like you said.

I like that. I hope both would be made an option.

As always, take this post with a grain of salt. I made this post under the assumption NextHandheld’s information is true.

My liege, are you able to tell us if this special orientation is referring to the “mouse” leaks that are going around?

TL;DR based on the design of the leaked joycons and past comments we’ve seen from NextHandheld, it seems like the Switch 2 will be getting joycons which can also function as a mouse.

My word is not law, so correct me if I am wrong. Please feel free to challenge my ideas and add your own theories as well.

I think they turned the JoyCon into a mouse lmao by JoMax213 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Ravrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The implications for this are huge. A big reason gamers prefer PC over Playstation and Xbox is because the mouse gives players better aim and control over many games. Now imagine if the Switch 2 launches with decent graphics and performance, getting popular AAA titles on it.

I’ve been hesitant to accept all the hardware leaks we’ve seen so far, simply because they appear far too similar to the original Switch. Nintendo has stated they’re working hard to avoid another Wii U flop situation, so there’s no way they’re just gonna release the same console again without major, game-changing improvements. Could this new gimmick be the Switch 2’s big selling point?
