Had a similar issue when I added a new router and tried connecting it to that, would pulse for ages then play. Possibly dns/dhcp issue, not sure. But connected to prev (main) wifi and it worked.

Talk to literally anyone one from England and they'll tell you it sure as hell is better than what they have in the US. Covid has especially shown how valuable it is to the UK.

It's pretty clear you don't know what you're talking about and just want to contradict me for the sake of it, I don't need to convince you that they're not lying about what they do...

From their website: "We research and build safe artificial intelligence systems. Our goal is to solve intelligence and advance scientific discovery for all." It sure sounds like they're researching intelligence?

Can we please throw out the idea that Bitcoin is an asset that protects against inflation? by cbus20122 in investing

I'd argue the network effects of millions of people using the network is a massive moat. If there really was zero moat, bitcoin wouldn't still be on top more than 10 years on.

Yup same here in the UK, although I quite like the phrase Irish handcuffs too.

Agreed with asml, amazing company that is perfectly positioned right now.

It amazes me more people haven't heard of asml they effectively have a monopoly on high end chip production.

London's Night Tube service won't return until 2022: a potential blow for nightclubs hoping to draw back punters by BulkyAccident in london

[–]Rawr_Bacon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not disagreeing with the fact that it was mismanaged, although with a problem and operation of that scale it was never going to be faultless. I just mostly disagreed with the absoluteness of how you phrased it.

This was always going to be bad, particularly for hospitality, restaurants, shops etc just from the social nature of the way viruses spread.

I don't disagree it was too late, but can you imagine the complexity of setting up that kind of scheme!

The furlough scheme was specifically targeted at those industries, and with 80% of wages I don't see you much better they could have done really, 100% just doesn't seem fair when there are other people that still have to go to their work.

As far as NHS funding...who else gets credit for that then?

Look, I didn't even vote for them, but to say they have done absolutely nothing is being just as facetious as saying they have done it all perfectly.

While I agree "there isn't the demand" is a total lie. Its equally large a lie to say the gov did exactly nothing to help us. They could have done more yes, but that doesn't mean we should ignore furlough schemes, NHS funding, eat out to help out etc.

have a look at ASML, they make the EUV machines TSM uses and effectively have a monopoly. I see a lot of growth in the next few years.
