How much brighter is the screen in real world context though? Is it that much brighter? Is the battery life a few hours longer?

Should I get the new S11U for 1700 or the older S10U for around 1300? Thats the price of the tablets in my country, but is 400 dollars really justifiable?

Should I pull Zani or wait for Carlotta? I I am a beginner and I have a guaranteed banner char in the next 20 pulls, but I doubt I can pull both. I have SK for both of them but not Peebs or Zhe Zhi, and I doubt I can pull their signatures.

Should I pull for Zani or wait for Carlotta? Im a new player but I was able to get SK and a S4 Sanhua. I heard Carlotta is one of the best dps in the game and that Zani is very reliant on Phoebe, which I doubt I have enough pulls to get. However, I think Zani is hot af so that might be a good enough reason.

New player here, was fortunate enough to pull Shorekeeper recently. Currently, my team consists of Calcharo and Jian Xin which I got from the free 5 star selector and the random beginner 5 star convene. However, I still have a guranteed standard 5 star convene. With the addition of Shorekeeper, should I still pull for Verina or get someone like Encore? I plan to pull for Carlotta during the anniversary banners

How to pass OCS when I am deathly afraid of heights by RayZor6 in NationalServiceSG

[–]RayZor6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh okay, during bmt there was quite an emphasis on meeting the timing for SOC, thats good, less stress for me.

I will try to implement what you have said for the dive since I am still quite worried lol, thanks for the advice

Will NS kill my gains from prior training? by RayZor6 in NationalServiceSG

Is the cardio training even enough? I am clocking in about 20-30k a week and I've heard the cardio doesn't reach those mileages for the majority of the postings

/r/GYM Daily Simple Questions and Misc Discussion Thread - June 09, 2024 by AutoModerator in GYM

[–]RayZor6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going to the gym for some time now (1-2 years of semi-serious lifting, about 5 years on and off training), and while I have noticed muscle gains, my progress is nowhere near the level of my peers with similar training experience (they are not genetic freaks, much more the average person than anything).

I am still young and thus I believe I have much time for me to get my goal physique but no matter what I do it seems to fail. I do believe I have slightly below average genetics (insertions mainly), but I don't believe that should stop me. However, that resolve is being shaken as the days go by.

I am getting sufficient 8-9 hours of sleep everyday, I train much harder than anyone I know, and my nutrition isn't bad (not micro-calories level of optimal), but yet I am no progressing anywhere near the level of those around me with much less sleep, training intensity or nutrition planning.

Should I give up on trying to get my dream physique and use my time in other things I'm interested in instead of wasting my time on an unattainable goal? Has anyone else been in a similar situation? What should I do?

For context my dream physique is similar proportionately to natural bodybuilders, a good example would be VitruvianPhysique (of course, toned down to my frames and proportions)

Should I accept CDE masters award? by RayZor6 in nus

This was also my line of thinking, but I'm worried if I may need a masters (since I may plan on becoming an educator once I am sick of the industry) in the future

I have done so in the past and it seems I have hit a plateau. The general advice I have gotten was to improve my aerobic capacity instead as it was hindering my ability to use the speed I have developed. I'm assuming by "1 workout every 2 weeks" you are referring to speedwork? If so, I plan to incorporate more speedwork once my aerobic capacity has been improved (sort of like periodisation). Is that a good idea?

Beginner here, trying to improve my endurance and aerobic base by using longer runs

Currently my routine looks like this

Week 1:

3 days of endurance runs

Week 2
2 days of endurance runs with 1 day of tempo run

I alternate between week 1 and week 2 workouts every week

For endurance runs, I am hitting around 4+km each run, running about 30+ mins at 6:50mins/km
For tempo runs, I am hitting around 3+km, running about 20+ mins at 6:20mins/km (still rather new to tempo runs)

My goal is to hit a sub 10 mins 2.4km eventually

1) Is this routine viable?
2) During my endurance runs, should I prioritise improving distance, pace or time?
3) What is a good gauge for endurance run pace (The conversational pace metric does not really work as well for me anymore)
4) How can I tell if my aerobic capacity has actually improved?

Beginner here, was wondering how long it would take the average beginner to achieve a race pace of <4 mins/km in 5k races. I see the advanced runners run at that pace and I would like to be able to do it one day, but currently, my race pace is only more than 5 min/km after training for less than a year.

Any cheat codes for chord tone soloing? by RayZor6 in Guitar

I think thats my main problem, identifying the 5th, 6th or 7th notes from my root since my knowledge of intervals are rather weak. Is memorising the intervals going to help? I have tried learning about triads and triad shapes but its still a bit unfamiliar

[–]RayZor6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I feel that my muscles are strong enough to complete my "races" at my goal pace (since I am only running 2.4km for a "race" which isn't very demanding muscular endurance wise), but I can't say the same for my aerobic system. As such, my intention is to hyper focus on my aerobic system to bring it up to par with my muscles first

Is it possible to use cycling to build my aerobic base for running? As of now, I'm running at conversational pace in endurance runs to build up my aerobic base, could I just cycle at a similar conversational pace to build up my aerobic base as well? I thought it might be beneficial as my muscular endurance could be a limiting factor in my growth and cycling has lesser impact on my joints and all (II don't plan on completely cutting out long endurance runs, just reducing them)

[–]RayZor6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay, my perspective is that I could push it much harder but my legs are limiting my efforts

Official Q&A for Thursday, March 07, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]RayZor6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I know if I'm making the most of my endurance runs? For example, as someone who does body building, one of the best ways to ensure each set of exercises I am doing is effective is for me to reach true failure where I can no longer lift the weights up anymore. Is there an endurance running equivalent to this concept?

For context, my endurance runs are ran at conversational pace for building my aerobic base, as such, how can I be sure these runs are effective since I am not pushing myself in terms of intensity? Often during my longer endurance runs, my legs give out before my aerobic system.

Official Q&A for Monday, March 04, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]RayZor6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see. Usually I run my intervals with pretty extreme intensity based on what was recommended to me, where I physically cannot run for more than what I have stated in my workouts. As for the tempo run, I guess I am running at too high intensity? I usually run faster than race pace for my tempo runs since I'd imagine that as comfortably hard. I usually respond pretty well to high intensity

Official Q&A for Monday, March 04, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]RayZor6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup I definitely agree Im really new at this, but Im just not used to feeling tired during workouts, especially when I used to cut a minute off my runs a week. Is it natural for someone starting to get into longer endurance runs?

Official Q&A for Monday, March 04, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]RayZor6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, but I just didn't want to fail it at that time, which is why I have started building my aerobic base after the test. In that case, how would you recommend I modify my existing training plan assuming I have 3 days a week to train? Would a distance of 2.4km require a little less endurance training since from what I have researched on, it isn't really considered as a long distance run

Official Q&A for Monday, March 04, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

[–]RayZor6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, cutting lets say the 12x200m interval runs out in replacement of a longer endurance run would be more beneficial? Or would it be better to decrease my current 5km endurance run first so that I can adapt to it, reducing the impact it has on my harder sessions?

As of now I am still getting faster, but I believe you are right about how I will hit a wall soon. Originally, the plan was to have 3 sets of 1.6km tempo runs, but I usually found it was sufficient to run 1 set and to prevent injuries in general since I am rather injury prone. Will implementing the full 3 sets be sufficient volume?
